I generally like the series
I generally like the series, but this is one of the weaker offerings. The rocket launchers are not shown accurately. The book shows 28 barrels in 7 rows of 4 tubes. The actual 28 tube launcher had 3 rows of 6 tubes and 2 rows of 5 tubes. Hans Lengerer's Japanese Hybrid Warships has a better depiction of the launcher (and the ship in general). Similarly, the upper main mast is shown as a simple pole and not the 3 pronged configuration that is clear in the photos of the ship in 1944 and 1946. These and other issues listed elsewhere seem like easily avoidable error. I kept my copy because I like the renderings despite the imperfections.

Awesome Book!
A must have if anyone is contemplating modeling the ISE or HYUGA after they were converted to hybrid battleship-carriers.

Very poor effort by designer and publisher.
I can't speak in the research in to the ship but this book follows a recent poor trend from the Kagero 3D line. The quality of the paper has gone from glossy and crisp to matte and grainy. If it were a good design/render this would be survivable but the 3D design is pitiful. The catapults rotating point has been located incorrectly (mid span) and AA guns located in the middle of trolly tracks doesn't inspire confidence in the research. It's also so angular and faceted that it's borderline Minecraft. The bow and all other round/cylindrical members have not been rendered (or designed) well, again it's low quality faces to interpret at cuve. The surface texturing of items like the tread decking is a very sample area that gets copied and pasted so much I wonder if staring at it will make a sail boat appear from optical illusion. The line drawings also show the poor 3D design as the profiles are all linear approximations of a curve.Kagero's previous works worked up to improve and inspire but this is an awful step back 15 years. I sent mine back.

Disappointing but, hey-ho, I'm pleased with the graphics
Read also the other critical reviews. The introduction was as usual written in poor English; worse, it was incomprehensible in places, even self-contradictory.Why doesn't Kagero get itself more professionally organised, in this regard?

sehr interessant
nicht nur für Modellbauer sehr informativ.
