Kaplan and Sadock's Concise Textbook of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

Am facing certification in less than 2 months and have been reading and enjoying this text. Have learned much about historical prescribing, as well as contemporary practice and which drugs are being considered/studies that have supported/not supported the use of a drug. Little is available regarding child/adolescent prescribing practices and this fills that gap.

This book was in great condition for a used book. I needed to read 12 chapters in 8 hours and the type was small but I did a skim method and sort of got what I needed.

I am studying for my 10 year re-certification for the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Boards. This book gives a good concise review of all the different syndromes and treatments. It is full of facts that I can picture being put into a multiple choice question as I am reading. The only drawback is that it doesn't include stages of cognitive, physical, psychological, and moral development.

Use it daily. Great price.

Not updated with the DSM 5, but good information.
