It's beautiful detail and all, but stick incense or cones, you have to offset the lid, because it puts them out. But it's beautiful, if your into dragons.

This dragon head is really cool. Only got one bad thing to say about it. They should’ve got holes in the nostrils. It is a dragon after all otherwise It’s very cool

Can’t love this enough. I tried several different burners, and this is by far my favorite. I ordered five of them. The color is not cheesy like some of the painted ones. With the top on, the smoke comes out around the face. You also can burn several times before you have to clean it out as it’s has a large burning chamber!! With the top on it, it’s not getting as much air, so it slows down the burn!AWSOME!!!! PERFECT!!!Update: I see people complaining that you can’t get large sticks in. If they made it big enough for that, it would look like a horse head and be too big for most countertops. That’s all you have to do is drill the back hole all the way through. It also makes it easier to remove when you put a new stick in. After you do that, you can burn all different sizes.

The dims are there in the description so no one should be surprised about the size. It’s pretty cool so I can’t completely slam it but it doesn’t quite work as advertised… the hole where the incense stick goes wasn’t properly bored out. I had to drill the hole to fit the stick in and the angle was off so that you couldn’t put the head back on without smothering the incense stick out. I have to set/cock the head back to keep it going which works but that goes to the missed opportunity I mentioned in the title. If it was designed to work like that it would be great but it wasn’t. Nice details to the dragon head but missed on the details of function. If you really like it you can make it work with a little extra home mods but if you are on the fence or can’t make the mods move on.

The packaging was quite good and should be able to survive shipping bumps.If you use anything except short (4 inch) incense sticks, you will have to use the holder with the top off or make modifications (in photo and noted below). Otherwise the incense stands too high and will be snuffed or pinched at the front when you put the top on.In order to support mid-length (Satya Sai) sticks, you can drill a new hole that is not angled up and goes completely through the back of the base. This will allow the stick to be inserted further preventing pinching and permit the top to be placed without touching the stick. I also drilled out the nostrils, but most sticks don't generate enough smoke for it to come through. I may plug the other holes to see if it can be encouraged to come from the nostrils.Overall it is a good product. Other reviews and the modifications I did give me the impression that the resin is very brittle. It may not survive a fall, so be mindful of placement in the presence of pets, kids, or otherwise curious hands. It is also a great candidate for painting. A wash and drybrushing could pull a good deal of detail from the casting.

I bought this to go for a theme I was doing, and it was the beast looking one online. I saw where others had said teeth were broken when received, but I took the chance anyway because I liked it so much. Well, it came quickly and when I took it out I did have two broken teeth, and the broken parts weren't even in the box. But if you look down at it or if I turn it to one side you don't even see it. As for the incense not burning (like others have had problems) I cut mine down to where it fit into the mouth and I made sure I had a flame on the incense before blowing out, and I had no problem with it going out. I wish the teeth were not broken. One of them was the big tooth at the back, but at least it still looks like a tooth and blends in.The other tooth was on the other side and was a smaller one. Smoke comes out of the holes on top of nose going toward eyes-not out of nose, and some out of mouth. Still really neat to look at.

I was concerned from previous reviews about it arriving in 1 piece, especially the teeth, but it was perfectly packed in thick, formed styrofoam and it arrived in perfect condition!!!! I love Toscano products, their designs are beautiful, and I've bought several animal statues over the years. I also want to thank Amazon, as they sold it to me and did the packing, excellent job and arrived in 2 days!!! It's a nice size and for extra long incense, I simply break off small portion of the stick of end that doesn't burn and it fits perfectly! I also put a little tape over holes inside top part of mouth, that way smoke comes out of his mouth between his teeth. For incense cones, I recommend putting them on a small incense burner before you put inside, or a coin would work fine, so you don't ruin this lovely dragon's inside mouth, as it would melt into it. I'm very enchanted with it, SO charming!!! Great gift for anyone!!! And dragons are a symbol of good luck in China.

The media could not be loaded.  First off, I absolutely love this thing. Totally worth it, I'm surprised to find something of this quality for this price. I'd expect to find this at a store for at least $60.It looks great on my dresser when not in use, and even better with incense burning. Nice to find it also has a soft velvet-y bottom so it doesn't scratch whatever surface it's on.It came packaged very well, no teeth or anything broken.Cons:-Yes, most typical sticks are too long. I suggest either getting smaller ones (Japanese style incense), or simply doing what I did and snapping off most of the bare end, and snipping off a tiny bit off the top if you need still.-The angle for the holder is too high for some sticks. I've only found this with ones with a thicker end, thin ones lay fine. Even with the thicker ones, just bend the end a little (don't snap it completely off, just enough that it angles it downward) and it can be low enough to put the top of the dragon head on.-If you have a problem with it extinguishing the incense, try sliding the head a little backwards, so the teeth aren't sitting directly over the holes. It still looks normal, and you can slide it back forward when it's not in use to cover the holes. Also wait and let the incense burn for a few seconds before putting the top on.Even though it should have been designed to make sure the average incense sticks both fit completely, and sit at the correct angle, I still recommend. For the price, I really don't mind snapping a tiny bit of some of my incense off. The visual effect, both in use and not, makes it worth it for me personally.

Absolutely beautiful work of art

My daughter bought this as a Christmas present. For me. Yes, I've already seen it and I love it. Can't wait until I'm actually allowed to have it.It's a nice weighty product with great detail and looks just...awesome. I'm probably considered too old to be using words like awesome, but it fits.The incense sticks that come with it don't burn well though, they keep going out. I'm not sure at this point if it's the quality of the incense sticks or if it could be lack of oxygen, there are several holes for oxygen to get in and smoke to come out, but these holes are quite small. I will try some other incense and see what happens.I love this so much I'm going to buy myself another one, because I've been told that two heads are better than one ;)So yes, I'll buy another one. Very soon. And give it to myself as an early birthday present. My birthday is in November, but I want it now!
