I bought this on Amazon Prime Day. Used it 3 times so far. This razor shaves great. I found it to be on the mild side. Maybe a 3 out of 10 in terms of aggressiveness. It's very light which I prefer. In terms of weight, it's similar to my plastic wilkinson sword. Very nice finish. I love the aluminum. My handle and top plate are spot on. My base plate has a couple of rough spots and small dings that somehow made it through the QA process. That is why I give it a 4/5 overall. If the finish on my base plate was as good as the handle and top plate it would be a 5/5 for sure.Update - 27 Jul 2022 - When I emailed the company about the baseplate, they responded quickly and told me they would send me a replacement in the mail. I expected to get a new baseplate. What I received was a new razor. Brand new in an unopened box. This one is flawless. Fantastic customer service. I couldn't be happier. I would buy this again. Changing my review to 5 out of 5 stars!

This razor is great for those new to DE safety razors. Its light weight and very mild head makes the shaving experience very much like using a p!astic cartridge razor - but without all the environmentally-unfriendly plastic waste. It's practically impossible to cut yourself, but it requires more than one pass for a really close shave. The fit and finish is are good. Blade exposure is even, and the anodized aluminum handle is easy to grip even with wet hands. You will not be disappointed with the quality of the razor. But the mildness and lack of heft are not to everyone's taste. I like it as a travel razor - its light to carry, and there's no risk of cutting up my face just before a big meeting, no matter how rushed or tired I am.

A WONDERFUL razor. And I speak from experience - I own at least 8 double-edge razors.But I should point out, either you like the lightness here or you don't (pure aluminum). I love it, but people who want a heavy brass razor need to be aware of the lightness of this one - and should try this one if they've never gone aluminum before.Other people here have reviewed the great and smooth cut (very very true) and snazzy looks (also true) - so I don't need to go over that. And there are other razors which are as good, or almost, by those criteria.I want to focus on what makes this razor unique - the BALANCE.Double-edge 3-piece razors like this one (and also the ones with butterfly technology) tend to be short-handled or long-handled. Short handled ones come in at around 92mm; long-handled around 110mm.I'm not really happy with either format: the short ones are awkward to hold, and the long-handled ones seem a too bit and awkward.But this one is an in-between 100mm - it feels just right in the hand, and balances PERFECTLY. What a find!

I received the Standard razor last week and have used it with Feather and Astra Stainless Steel blades. I love it! I have several razors, several of which are very highly rated, that I rotate through to keep my attention on shaving accurately and to keep my interest up. So, I have my favorites and this is now one of my two top favorites by a wide margin. The other is a Feather all stainless steel razor that costs $150. So, when I say that this razor is a good deal, I mean it.It is a smooth, gentle razor. Good for experienced DE razor users, like myself, and for beginners. But, yes there is always a but, don't drop it on anything hard. It is aluminum so is soft. It is a light weight razor, while the Feather is a heavy razor, but they both perform well. The conclusion for me is that weight is not as big an issue as I always thought.Anyway, great razor at a great price. If I broke it tomorrow, I would buy another.

This is a unique razor in that it is made all out of aluminum, which makes it surprisingly light, which is something that I personally like. The matte texture on the surface combined with the light weight means that it grips well enough in my hand even when wet and soapy, and it has nice ergonomics. The quality is very high as would be expected form this high price point. It is medium aggressive being effective and enjoyable to use. It seems to be effective on fairly tough beads with the aggressiveness of the blade present and doing an effective job but not being nasty. The aluminum head seems to slide over the skin nicely. I think that it is well enough built and designed that it may be the only razor that you would need. If I could choose only one for me, I would choose this one. I have to give credit to the company for thinking outside the box on this one. It is expensive, but if you are going to keep it for years and enjoy it, then it seems worth the investment.

I bought this a little while ago and have been using it daily. Being lightweight didn't seem to be such a big deal until I realized that shaving with it was less of a chore than using similar brass razors. The angle is perfect for me (I've never used safety razors exclusively but I probably will now). Came pristine in packaging; the modern look is either good or bad depending on your aesthetics; I like it. Only issue is that you can get many similar razors for way less. It will probably come down to how well it holds up to travel, which I do a lot. Will try to remember to update.

First time using a double edge, razor was a little bit nervous trying one for the first time after always using the cheap plastic razors. once I got used to it, I totally love it. The quality is amazing so if you’re on the fence about getting one of these just get one they’re perfect.
