The Revstar RS720B Is a quality guitar!
I received my Revstar RS720B Shop Black guitar today. It is actually my birthday. I am amazed with the quality of this guitar. Every single thing is top notch. Even the included gig bag is quite nice, with decent padding. I think that makes it easier to ship to customers too!I love the pickups, as they are low output, which provides a lot of headroom before distorting, so the clean sounds are amazing. The sustain times are truly excellent as well, and the included Elixir strings is a nice touch. There are a lot of YouTube videos that allow one to hear the guitar before purchasing. You can probably tell I am happy.

Rock-on with demo
The media could not be loaded. My first Yamaha and I am loving it. Becoming my go to guitar. This thing had various tonal choices due to pickups and tone pots, plus the neck feel good. Works great with those 60s and 70s Rock & Roll style tunes. Also do a search on YouTube for my unboxing and demo, look up title is: Yamaha RS 720B Revstar guitar.

Impressive, good value for the money?
Wow, I brought this thing off of Amazon and I kept it. It cost over 900.00 dollars. I`m not a professional musician. That has to be saying something. I think overall it seems to be a rather quality guitar, it's not even exactly the "Revstar" I wanted. I wanted the Rs720 with the p-90 pickups, in black. This one I got , was in ash Grey, and had the lighter pickups on it. Maybe this version is going to be more versatile and the p90 version. I thought I'd try it out and if I didn't like it,, I could return it.. I'm not an expert on the guitar, but it seems playable out of the box. Downsides though, these 720's are a bit heavy, and the frets are alittle rough...hard to adjust frets with that binding on the neck. But overall seemed worth keeping

Yamaha's quality appears to be slipping.
I’m writing this after spending 24 hours with this guitar. For background perspective, I’ve been playing guitar for over 50 years and have owned quite a few in that time. Reviews of this guitar have been, for the most part, universally positive. This is a beautiful guitar that incorporates features found on instruments costing twice as much. But there is inherent risk in buying a $900 guitar online. My initial visual inspection revealed a beautifully built and setup guitar with a true neck, great jumbo frets and no visible flaws in fit and finish. When I pick up a guitar for the first time, my left hand goes immediately to the neck to gauge the workmanship and feel. Everything looked great but my fingertips revealed fret ends that were rough and sharp. Not just a little either. This is contrary to Yamaha’s reputation for fit and finish. Why didn’t someone in the plant take a few minutes to finish the job properly? And, what about a final inspection? It takes only a couple of seconds of handling to reveal the problem. I was bummed, but I knew how to address the problem and I corrected the issue in around 30 minutes. “No big deal.”This morning I started playing and was please with the functionality of the pickups, the resulting tone and the guitar’s overall playability. I’m thinking “this is good”. After working through a variety of switch and tone settings, and after minimal use of the Bigsby, the tremolo handle falls off in my hand. This is aggravating. No simple fix is possible. Do I just box it up, send it back and get a refund? Nope, since I’d already invested time and effort in properly dressing the fret ends. I loosened the strings so I could rotate the Bigsby’s pivoting fixture and reassemble the handle. This is not an uncommon issue with Bigsby tremolos. But it should not happen with a new guitar just out of the box. Yamaha, I think your quality is slipping and hope you are listening. I don’t think anything else is lurking on the horizon. I own it now.

This Guitar is well worth the money. Solid built and top quality from Yamaha.
I have to say... This is a great guitar. The sound if pretty damn good. The pickups (to me) are quite punchy. The Dry switch is like a coil tap that rolls off the highs just a tad. The locking tuners are smooth as glass. The build quality is solid and durable AF. I lucked out and got mine for half price. I worried over buying it for 5 weeks. I talked myself down several time, but I finally couldn't pass it up at half the price. The licensed Bigsby Tremoly is the reason I bought it. I wanted a Tele with a Bigsby but I didn't want to pay those prices. The only thing I do not like, but can live with is the Ash Grey color. I think another color choice would have brought out the wood grain better, or highlighted it better.

fret sprout
Like another reviewer my new 720b arrived with fretsprout on almost every fret. Build quality seemed good otherwise. I'm guessing this is a result of the way Amazon stores these guitars (too dry). I've returned the guitar and will try ordering from a reputable online music store.
