Wonderful, but be careful of current description
I love these, and have been looking for them for years. I had copies as a child that were scratched and I'm so happy to have finally found them. However, note that the description is incorrect as THESE ARE ABRIDGED. They tell the whole story, but they are not word for world audiobooks. They are adaptations performed by a full cast on BBC radio, and they are excellent, but do not buy them expecting them to be unabridged editions.

Vivid Production of Narnian Books
As a huge fan of the Chronicles of Narnia from my childhood, I was very excited to share this BBC Radioplay adaptationwith my daughter. The great advantage of radio plays over audiobooks is that the great cast of characters, music and sound effects bring the book to life in a way that simple reading cannot. BBC has done a great job in converting these classic stories into radio plays. The actors for all the lead characters give realistic and lively depictions of their roles. There, however, a few problems. First, the audio levels were not adjusted well, so when listening at home or in our car, we have to turn up the sound for the quiet parts, but then, you get blasted by the louder parts. Another, but smaller, quibble is that in the first few books, Aslan's roar sounds more like an asthmatic cat than a ferocious lion. This is a great way to experience all 7 books.

Not suitable for younger children at bed time, tense and scary.
This is an excellent story and wonderful performance by the voice actors. It's abridged and very well done.I originally bought it from a search of "children's bed time story" but I was unable to get my daughter to listen past the first half hour.Almost immediately there's some mature themes with a boy who's mother is dying, a creepy uncle who sound villanous, and teleportation to a scary, dark world of ruins and death. My daughter is 6 years old and she is not overly sensitive, but the story was too scary for her.Hope this helps!

Radio Drama, not Audio Book
For a radio play based on The Chronicles of Narnia, it's outstanding. However, I was expecting--based on the description--an audiobook that constituted a dramatic but direct reading of the books. It's not a reading of the books at all, it's a drama that hugely paraphrases the text.

Hurray for Narnia
What can one say: SuperbI remember listening to these on the Radio in the 1990's with my late wife Angela who loved Narnia. We had a particular affinity with The Horse & His Boy and now my own daughter of eight is enjoying these timeless classics from a master writer. A great set. Reasonably priced and every bit as good as I remember them when they first came out.

Fantastic dramatization of all the books
Fantastic dramatization of all the books. Close to the original tales but very accessible to an earlier reader. My 6 year old daughter has loved discovering the stories, and I have enjoyed listening to them too.

Captivating dramatisation of the Narnia stories
Fantastic dramatisation of the Narnia stories, these interpretations really bring the stories to life and are spellbinding. We listened to them on a very long car journey and I can genuinely say that we were all captivated.
