I have a selection of silicone container lids for pots and bowls, so was familiar with the design concept, and how effective it is at creating a seal, ,so when I saw these I knew they would work well for my hot teas and smaller containers. While the 'ears' do make it easy to lift and adjust the caps, Im not super fond of 'cute' design, and prefer the single center semi-circle grip of my larger units. However I am partial to single-serve portioning when I package food for the refrigerator, and having six lids means I can cap things like homemade jello cups without cling wrap, and the less plastic I use and throw away, the better. Can't believe how much I love these. Not only are they cute, but so functional. I use them all the time when I'm getting ready for work in the morning and my tea is still steeping. My tea is still hot after 20 minutes. I gave a couple of these away to friends and they also love how cute they are and how great they work for them. I haven't put them in the dishwasher, so not sure if they are dishwasher safe, but they are very easy to hand wash anyway. Good buy.

These are very cute and our kids love them. However, unlike the description says, there’s no suction. Yes, you push down on the lid and it creates a very light suction to the cup and you hear it “burp,” but within 1-2 minutes, it loses the suction. If our little ones tip the cup over everything will spill out. So we can just use it to keep dust out of our cups.
