Excellent stain
Color - Antique Walnut. Excellent stain - easy to work with. The box I am staining is made of scrap wood with an uneven pattern. In some areas the wood is much darker and has a red hue. I suspect parts of it might be made of entirely different kind of wood. So I was concerned it would come out "striped & spotted". Used Minwax pre-stain to minimize the blotching effect and surely it helped a lot. But it also accentuated the unevenness in wood which was alarming. It wasn't just the color, I could see the difference in wood pattern and density as well. And all of it showed up conspicuously after the 1st coat of stain. To even it up on the second round I stained only lighter parts with a small brush, went around a few times and then let it sit overnight. The next day did the whole procedure again - stained the whole box, then touched up lighter parts. And it came out beautiful. I was lucky to pick up a lighter shade of Walnut (antique). It allowed me to put quite a few coats on without going too dark. Antique walnut color is absolutely gorgeous; it has a lot of natural gold tones in it. And I was able to build up a darker shade by applying more stain. Love the results. Cleaning the working table with a wet paper towel was a breeze, there is no odor, no fumes, and it dries rather quickly if you wipe the stained object with a dry cloth. Definitely recommend this product.

The emerald green is beautiful
The color is beautiful. It is very easy to use and clean up with water. Have bought other colors. Good price. I recommend this seller and product.

Work fast for even coverage
I like it because it doesn't smell, clean up is easy. I mixed 3 parts golden wheat with one part dark walnut. I was trying to match some antique oak furniture. It came out pretty close. I used just a shellac finish coat, the wood grain came through very nice. I put a generous amount of this on and wiped off right away. It will show lap marks, even though it says it won't. You can remove any lap marks by by applying more, but the coverage will get uneven. I would definitely buy again. I would much rather work with this product than oil base stain.

Really enjoying this stain. (Clay color)
So I haven't worked with low odor non toxic transparent stain before. Varathane Kona is usually my go-to color. However after staining some stair treads with it in the gel form (hadn't realized it was oil based) the stairs stunk for about 6 weeks. Kona also is not very transparent if at all on the gel form. That led me to try this product. Completely different color than Kona but so much more depth of color. It was a bit of a learning curve. The ikea moppe drawers I turned into a nightstand were done first with a foam roller (wouldn't recommend) though I don't hate how it came out. The shelf was done afterwards. It's an Ivar shelf from ikea and I believe it's pine.I have a fine mister bottle that I sprayed into the cup of stain to water it down further and I would also wet the rag and the wood slightly so that it didn't absorb right away. It has a lot of play time before drying and I really like how if one area is too concentrated you can mist some water on it and it disperses almost like watercolor in the tube. You can also do this if it dries too pigmented as well to reactivate and work in into other areas which I really appreciate. I plan to layer distressed paint effects over the the stained pieces and then seal it using General Finishes Flat. I transferred my stain to a fifo squeeze bottle and even found squeezing it directly onto the wood and then misting it and wiping it in with a wet rag to be even faster. It's very easy to clean and a little goes a long way.I can understand the people who say this isn't easy to work with. It doesn't act like traditional stain. It only became easy once I watered it down and used a rag. Using the roller initially it acted more like paint. It is initially a black color until it is fully absorbed.Would recommend for those who want a low odor non toxic transparent stain that is easy to clean up and forgiving to work with.Note: The shelf was done in the clay color, however the side posts that have a warm brown mixed in is a layer of Dark and dDecrepit stain from Debs DIY Paint that's layered over it. The clay stain has a gorgeous purple hue to it. Will definitely repurchase and would like to try some of the other colors like olive, dark walnut, and castle stone.Thank you for coming to my tedtalk...

Emerald Green Color
I used the SamaN Emerald Green stain on my Old Hickory knife handle. It was easy to use and provided an excellent finish. I was able to achieve the color and finish I wanted with two coats of stain. I followed the direction exactly, although I did use a wood conditioner, and was pleased with the ease of application and results. The staining process was quick and easy on my relatively small wooden knife handle. After completing the process of staining the handle, the clean up was also quick and easy. I would recommend this SamaN stain for similar uses.

Fantastic product!
I’m raving about this wood stain. It’s the most amazing stain I’ve ever used and I’ve refinished & refurbished a lot over the years. My cherry cabinets look brand new. It takes very little on a sponge & goes on like a polish. The beautiful wood grain shows through. There is no streaking. Even after dry I could add more without streaks. Clean up with water is easy. I highly recommended this magic wood stain product!

Maybe I just had bad luck?
The wood I stained turned almost black. I dont know if it was the stain or an interaction with another chemical on the wood, which was a cherry end table that had accidentally been through a solvent spill. Some areas look great. Others are black.

Great value and incredibly easy to use!
After a long search for an easy to use, Water-based stain that wouldn't cost me $50- I found this and am not disappointed. Incredibly easy to use and dries very fast. I chose rosewood and it was a bit darker than expected but if you move fast to wipe off any excess then you should stay in control of the finish. I recommend choosing a light color and building up a few layers if you're afraid to lose any grain. A post-stain sand helps as well. Great value!!

Great value
I’ve been buying this stain in smaller quantities at hardware stores for years. Had no idea I could get a bottle this size for such an excellent price —- way cheaper than buying the other bottles. It is the only stain I will use for my wood products. Coverage is great and it is super easy to apply and clean up. Smell is minimal as well.

Issue with product but brand is still the best
The Picture is the regular WALNUT colour.I discovered this water-based odour free wood stain a few years back when I built a bed frame from scratch. It is absolutely amazing, especially for those living in apartments without a workshop. Other oil based stains stink immensely. Even days after curing. Saman is an absolute breeze. No smell, easy clean up with some warm water. Very forgiving when applying. Perfect for beginners. If you make a mistake with a drip or an overlap, just reapply and rub it in vigorously... it blends in so well.I have used it with a primer and without. As long as the product is sanded properly, save your time and don;t apply a primer, just a finish. I also used the satin finish (clear water based) by Saman. The only reason this is not 5 stars is because the products arrived leaking (not the fault of the seller). I ended up buying the Walnut elsewhere as I needed it before the next order could arrive.Additionally, the colours are very difficult to figure out base don pictures. I strongly recommend viewing the videos on the Saman Youtube channels, and pictures provided by customers. Here is some help with colour:Dark walnut is VERY dark, 2 coats is almost chocolate/espresso/black (like the Ikea dark brown)Walnut (regular) is like the picture above: 1 coat. 2 coats is much darker, but you see an auburn undertoneAntique walnut: drastically lighter than the above, more of a neutral brown and to get it to a true brown you need like 4 coatsRosewood: don't let the pics mislead you, it is super red undertones, closer to burgundy.Hope this helps someone out there.

Looks amazing
Love the colour, easy to use and we have stained 2 shelves already and it’s about half gone, so we have plenty left for more projects. Down side is on Amazon it’s more than in store, BUT in store had less selection. So for the ability to get the colours I want would buy here again!
