A Tasty Treat with Substance
An excellent read. Both characters have issues they struggle with, issues that have affected how they relate to themselves and others and force each of them to hide their true selves because of the shame and betrayal they feel. Having two damaged people like Luca and Cheyenne find their healing and freedom in each other is a very tasty treat. Having a supporting cast of other realistic and three-dimensional characters is just more delicious icing on the cake.Cheyenne, in particular, is dealing with an abuse-filled childhood the likes of which none of us want to admit happens in real life, yet she took what would have destroyed most people and found the strength to not only lift herself up but to achieve success. Watching her struggle with her desire to trust and depend on Luca and her fear of having anyone but herself in control of any aspect of her life is something many of us can empathize with. As a Native American, I also appreciate the way in which Cheyenne's Native heritage is handled - even though it is very much peripheral. She is what we call a Lost Bird, someone raised apart from their Native people and culture. She isn't bitter or dismissive of that part of her, but aware that it is there and has given her the unique beauty that enabled her to make it as a top model. The closeness of Luca's family as they deal with their father's lies and betrayals and the discovery of half-siblings neither side knew about is realistic and encouraging. The comments they trade back and forth as they come to terms with the matter at hand made me laugh out loud because I easily find that kind of humorous discourse within my own family. No one but family would tell you to pretty much get over yourself using such deprecating humor and yet get away with it... because you know they really love you. Family - the people you love and are loved by - is all that matters in the end, be they by blood or of the heart.

This talented author told me she had fun writing Pride
As a long-time fan of Sandra Marton, I was anxious to devour her novel, Pride, the first in The Wilde Country series. And Sandra did it again! She has never been shy to lay on her reader a hot-button romance. This talented author told me she had fun writing Pride. I am certain I had as much fun reading this fast paced, steamy novel. Getting to “happily ever after” was not easy. Come to think of it, that is what we expect in romance novels. This well-crafted romance will entertain the most seasoned romance reader, who delights in unlikely and deliciously lusty love of two people with a dark unhappy past. Pride is a page-turning, (don’t quit reading yet) provocative novel. At first I was turned off by Cheyenne. I could see that she wasn’t being true to herself. Then as her unhappy past was revealed, it was plain to see why I felt this way. The handsome, Luca with deeply complex problems of his own, pulled all the negative details and feelings out of her, uncovering the deeply hidden happiness she always wanted. I’m a die-hard romantic and was happy that this “knight in shining armor” came to her rescue.Passion the second book in The Wilde Country series, should be out by now. My Kindle Fire is anxious and ready, and I can’t wait. Then we can look forward to Power, and then Privilege.Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow! I will be in my favorite chair, covered by my favorite blanket, reading another book by this US Today best-selling author.Shirley Webb

Another HOT Wilde
Sandra Marton delivers another hot read about the Wilde family with Pride book #1 in the In Wilde Country series. This book has a sexy hero in Luca Bellini (AKA Luca Wilde), Luca and his siblings find out their dad wasn't legally married to their mother and to make it worse their dad had another wife and family in America leading to many problems and emotions. Our heroine is Cheyenne McKenna who has many issues, a lot of them dealing with her childhood. Luca and Cheyenne are both strong people and upon meeting the chemistry and spark starts. Their relationship is combustible for both of them with plenty hot (and I mean HOT) encounters. If you like books that have strong family ties and emotions, hot sex, heart-breaking family backgrounds, romance and a HEA, then this book is for you!! Sandra's writing just sucks a reader in so that you do not want to put this book down. Looking forward to reading more about this side of the Wilde family. The cover even fits with my picturing Luca-HOT!!! Check out Sandra Marton's other books about the Wilde family you will not be disappointed!

A tough start to the new series
I've read every single book about the Wildes and although this is the start of a new series, it still involves the Wildes. We met this H and his family in the novella 'On the Wilde Side' and if I'm not mistaken we found out about them at the end of the third book about the Wilde sisters. So our H is the oldest of siblings, Italian, alpha, gorgeous and he has issues. He's terribly hard and I really didn't like him very much for a good part of the book. The h is a bit wild too and I wasn't crazy about her either. I pre-ordered this book and after the first couple of chapters I was ready to return it for a refund. I persevered and it was a good story and I kind of got it but I didn't love it.

Sexy read
Great story of passion and love between two people that have so much baggage from their past but seem to be brought together at a time in life when they both needed it most. Cheyenne grew up with many dark secrets and it played a role in the control she tried to keep in her life. But when Luca came along for some reason all thoughts of reason went out the window when he touched her. Their was so much passion between them and the sex was off the charts hot. It was enjoyable reading about the journey they both had in trying to come to terms with their past. Great story and highly recommend.

Bigamist?? Is this suddenly legal in the USA ???
Maybe it's different in the USA but in the UK bigamy is illegal and is a criminal offence that ends up with the guy in Jail! The author it seems has decided to ignore the law and have a 'general' as a bigamist apparently still able to keep his job, have no scandal and not end up in court and in jail!!! Talk about make believe... and really what family ever would be okay with that - the Wilde family for all that they are seen as being macho are really rather wussy! I'm pretty sure most families would complete disown the parent that did this!

All the Wilde books have so far been...well, wild and Pride did not disappoint. I had been waiting desperately for the release of this book and it was so worth the wait. So much heat, passion, humour....I could not put it down and finished within hours.
