American Standard 070900-0200A Repair Parts Paint Enamel Steel Touch-Up, White

A little pricey for such a small bottle. Used on some nicks on an American Standard enameled steel sink. Hid the damage very well. I dried fairly quickly for me in an hour or so. One nick it made nearly invisible. the other larger deeper chip it covered well but not hidden. It improved the appearance of the sink and was fairly easy to use. Didn't take a lot on the damage I had. A small chip and a larger gouge. All in all I am satisfied with this product and would recommend it.

My 12 year old son recently put a HUGE chip in his bathtub by knocking down his shower curtain! I thought nothing would cover up the 2 inch wide circle of exposed steel on the tub. I tried 3 other brands before this one (2 of them came from the big chain improvement stores) and nothing matched my American Standard tub! I was about to give up when I saw this on Amazon & figured I would have better luck since it said Porca-Fix was used for American Standard. It MATCHES PERFECTLY after 2 applications (allowing to dry completely in between)!!!!! Now you can not even see this huge chip, which I would have thought impossible!! I did not have any application issues (although I recommend having a paper towel handy for any drips) and the consistency was exactly right (not too thick or thin).....I think some of the past mentioned reviews about the thickness of it are due to storage issues at the distributer (climate control, etc.). I ordered this shipped direct from Amazon (which is ALWAYS my preference) and it came in one day and the box was inside a sealed bag from the manufacturer, completely intact.

I purchased a small vanity sink from Lowes a few yrs. ago & reviews said porclain wore off and they were correct. Not giving 5 stars because it wasn't a nick in finish but a fairly lg. area around the faucets and using the brush provided, you could see brush strokes. I could not even it out and blend in with existing finish. I left it dry, but sandpaper provided was useless. Finally had to pour more on and smooth edges with my fingers. I looks much better than before and you would have to look close to see uneven surface. It is nice and shiny and matched well. Overall, I am pleased. Before it always looked liked it needed cleaning because of the missing porclain and now it looks clean and shiny. I am thankful I found this product.

Did a great job covering a nick in the bath tub. You can barely see the spot I used it noe. Id recommend this product highly

It was easy to apply, but the color was not right. I have no idea what brand my sink is since I bought it when I bought the quartz counter for the bathroom. I guess I assumed that it might be the same as an American Standard. White Heat is not white enough. My sink had a small chip and a tiny crack ran from the chip around the drain.The chip is filled in pretty well. After sanding I can still see the crack. If I run my finger over it I can feel it. I probably wouldn't be able to see it if the product was a brighter white. It's almost a white putty color. It would probably fill with another coat but I will have to get a better white before doing that.

Finally, a product that works. Several years ago, the installation of a new kitchen faucet resulted in a huge chipping of the enamel on the kitchen sink. Because of the way that the sink is tiled in, replacing it would be a sizable and undesirable job so, I've tried 4-5 different products to repair the damage. Some products didn't last more than a month, others just look terrible. When I saw this for American Standard products, I presumed that it would be a closer match to the enamel and wanted to try it. (although, I don't know the sink's manufacturer)..Yeah...I did two coats of this glaze and now, you'd have to know to look for the repair to know that it's there..Thank you.

I had a handyman drop one of his tools onto the side of my brand new tub. A porcelain repair guy came to repair it, but after only five months, the crack came back. I decided to try myself. I probably spent nearly $50 trying various products from the home improvement stores. I tried porcelain touch up pain and the color didn't match American Standard white. I tried several different versions of the epoxy type porcelain repair. Most did not set up properly or did not dry to a smooth finish. Here's what I finally did: I started by filling in the crack with a filler, rather than trying to apply multiple layers of paint. Once the filler had dried, I thoroughly sanded it using extra fine 1500 grit sandpaper so that the finish was absolutely smooth and no part of the crack or indentation showed. I then got the American Standard AS-1 White Porc-a-Fix. The color is a perfect match for the American Standard plain white. I put on one very, very thin coat, feathered it a little bit past the actual chip, allowed to thoroughly dry, sanded it, and put on a second coat. I may wish to do one more coat, but this was the ONLY thing that actually covered the chip without it looking like an amateur (botched) repair. Now, I can't speak to whether it will last, but it at least looks like a new tub again.
