It’s not perfect, but…
I’ve been using a couple of these controllers for 2-3 years now. They are pretty darn good quality. They feel great for people without three hands. The cords are longer than the original controller cords were. The color looks very close to ice blue n64. My rumble pak, and memory paks work perfect. However, the paks have a hard time sliding in and out of the control’s slot, you’ll want to lightly scrape the inner fins a bit. The biggest problem is they don’t seem to work with the gameboy transfer pak, so I use an original controller in slot 2, and play with this controller in slot one. (So don’t buy this thinking you can use it for Pokemon. The only other problem is that games simply weren’t made for this beauty, for example, Zelda Oot’s inventory move pages using Z&R instead of L&R.I didn’t enjoy this system when I got it but this controller the games feel so much better.

Amazing! Absolutely worth buying!!
I've always been skeptical of 3rd party controllers, but this controller is the real deal. I like it so much that I purchased a second! It's a slightly new layout, sure, but it's a massive improvement. It's basically what an N64 controller would be if it was conceptualized today, as opposed to the late 90s.The build quality feels amazing, I don't have a single complaint with any of it. I love the joystick, and how all of buttons feel, too. There are wireless versions of this controller, and those are just as good, though I'm pretty sure they lack the port on the bottom that let's you plug in things in (such as memory cards). I preferred the wire versions though, because then I don't have to keep them charged, and the wires are long anyways.

Not perfect, but an improvement over the original
The blue color shown in the photos (as of January 2021) is not super accurate. In the listing, this controller looks almost sky blue, but in real life, the see-through plastic is a very close match to the ice blue N64. It's a nice touch. This controller is certainly more comfortable than the three-pronged original--which I grew up with and actually liked in some ways. The Brawler 64 sets your wrists at a more ergonomic angle, which was my main complaint about the original trident. This item fixed that issue for me, and so for that I give it 4 stars. I like the matte finish of the buttons, and the slight offset of A/B from the C buttons didn't bother me, though I thought it would. The larger C buttons didn't bother me, either. The control stick, while rubberized for grip, has no ringed texture (like a gamecube) or indent (like an xbox). I had slippage issues until I adjusted the neutral position of my thumb.I have two un-fixable gripes about this controller that made me knock off a star. First, the squishy z buttons. Who decided this was a good idea? It feels so weird. The original N64 Z button has a single actuation point; it's a button that's either pressed or un-pressed. These Z buttons feel more like an Xbox controller, which can register pressure with many actuation points. Z-targeting in Zelda takes a little time to re-learn, especially if you "hold" instead of "switch" Z (my fellow Zelda players know what I'm talking about).Second, the control stick sensitivity. While it's an improvement in overworld dexterity, aiming takes a hit. I wish there was a way to tone down the sensitivity on this stick. In some test rounds of target practice in the Ocarina of Time shooting gallery, the original controller is far superior because, of course, it will always be appropriately calibrated. Since I'm mostly playing the two Zelda games, which don't require a huge amount of aim, this controller is about 90% effective for me.For the record, the companies that are trying to improve a very strange, outdated, and uncomfortable original controller are doing the lord's work. While the Brawler 64 could be better, I'm very glad it exists. I tried the Retro-bit Tribute 64, which was modeled after the elusive Japanese Hori controller, and found it to be too narrow with poor shoulder button placement. The ergonomics of this one are far superior to that one, even with my two gripes above. If you're waffling between the two, I recommend this one.

Better than the original
way more comfortable than the default Nintendo 64 controller. It plugs right into the console easy and works great. I've had no issues with latency or any other type of problem. Very comfortable to hold and the analog stick is a dream compared to the original to me. I got the Blue color and it looks really great. Would recommend if you're looking to get a new controller to play games more easily. As well it does support rumble packs like the original controller which is nice. Very happy with it.

One of the best Nintendo 64 controllers you can get today.
I recently bought a replacement joystick for my original controller only to be disappointed with the performance. As worn out as my original one was, it still performed far better as far as accuracy and responsiveness. Decided to finally look into a 3rd party controller. Didn't have high expectations, since most retro devices are usually average at best, I noticed some controllers that were highly rated from customers and critics alike. Decided to go with the Brawler 64. The controller is well made and the analog stick, even though it is a completely new design, performed just as well as the original in terms of responsiveness and sensitivity, if not better. The design is different so there is a learning curve. You get a more modern feel playing games you knew and loved. The Brawler 64 has nailed all the fundamentals of the original Nintendo 64 experience and enhanced it with a modern design and the quality is amazing. You can tell from the look and feel. Even though there are other options out there, I was convinced this is the controller for my system moving forward. So convinced that I ordered a second one in a different color and a third in the near future!

better than the originals
If you still like to play your N64 like i do and the original controllers are just not cutting it then look no further. It feels good in your hands. Its lightweight and it keeps that Nintendo 64 feel. Joystick on the left side of the controller and the z button has been moved and its way better for button mapping. Also the cable going from the controller to the console is longer than the original so you don't have to sit to close to the TV to play your favorite games. Worth the price point if you still play your N64 and your a hardcore fan like me.
