just a wizard seeking a dragon
I bought this deck for nostalgic reasons- my Tarot teacher, from like one million years ago had this deck, and I bought it when I came across it and found that it was still in print. This deck is wonderfully retro. It was first published in 1996 and the fantasy art on these cards is very of that time- I was a kid in the 90's and these cards have that sort of Trapper Keepper/ Paperback book cover feel to them, if you know what I mean. Those are positives- this deck has a lot of personality as a result of its ultra mid-90's art.The backs are reversible, and feature dragons if they were pinstriping on the back of a car (complitmentary- but very 90's motorcycle core lol) and the suits are all lightly color coated although both swords and cups are shades of blue (as pictured). This is a US Games deck so it comes in a standard US Gamea tuck box and a LWB, this one with some descriptions of the art for the majors but is a single sentence for minors. (This doesn't bother me as I don't actually expect anyone to learn from the LWB, I know I didn't, but I like when the artist explains their choices. Older decks like this are often without a great companion book)I love this deck. I'm not doing a good job describing why In this review. It's probably a combination of my nostalgia for this specific deck and a love for the really rad 90's art but I don't care if it's not something I can really wax poetic about. Do you like dragons? Do they make you feel like a cool ass 12 year old again? Do you like Tarot decks that you think a sick ass wizard would use? Then this your sick ass deck.

Beautiful artwork. Dragons. Tarot. What's not to love?!
This is a wonderful tarot but I wouldn't particularly recommend for a beginner. Knowledge of Rider Waite Smith (RWS), Thoth, and/or Tarot de Marseille will help one to get a better grasp of this deck.Beautiful artwork. The Empress and The Star are both particular favorites. The four elements can clearly be seen in each suit: Coins (Earth), Cups (Water), Wands (Fire), Swords (Wind). The dragons serve as friendly guides and are very endearing in some of the cards, helping you navigate through this deck. The little white book is helpful understanding the artwork in the major arcana. Minors less information, so I employ numerology in addition to the elemental associations and Intuition. This deck will grow on you if you give it a little attention and take the time to connect.Enjoy!

Good deck, 95% good design, but a little iffy on quality
I didn't want to get this deck. I love dragons but the Celtic Dragons Tarot's art was much more my style -- based on the picture here, it appears much more modern and bold. But... every time I went past it, one of the spirits I worked with kept pointing it out and it kept shouting 'pick me! pick me!' until I finally got it.I expected it to take at least a week to ship...... and it was here literally two days after. I guess my spirit was just that excited to use this deck, haha.Upon opening this box, it is a nicer deck than the box image would have you to think. The images are simple, but effective. They don't particularly illustrate the meaning of the cards super-well, but the LWB that comes with it works just fine. The LWB actually even has the information on how to read the cards reversed, which is something I haven't seen in any of the other 5 decks I own.One pet peeve with this deck, design-wise, is that each of the minor arcana suits has color-coded dragons which make it easy to tell the elements and difference between the suits.... the coins, earth, are green and have trees in the background, the swords, air, have blue dragons with bubbles in the background, the wands, fiver, have red dragons with fire at the tips of each wand......... but the cups, representing water, with water in each picture..... have green dragons, then a couple black dragons, then silvery-blue ones. If the artist had stuck with his theme of color-coded dragons, or even if he hadn't color-coded any of the others, it would have made my OCD much happier. One other thing, that may just be my deck, is the quality isn't the greatest. While still printed on cardstock, my cards feel kind of flimsy and therefore don't fit together too well when I try to shuffle them together. That is the one thing that really does bother me. I worry about damaging them from shuffling too hard....Also, the images are a little bit pixelated. It appears as though it may just be the artwork itself, as though the pictures were drawn with colored pencil on heavily-toothed paper, although in some pictures of the cards online I can't really see this defect. It isn't noticeable if you don't look too closely at the images, though it does make me a little sad because the images could be so much more bold and powerful without it.Overall, I like this deck. If it were printed on heavier cardstock, I'd be much happier, but alas I'm certain this deck will work for readings just fine... and my spirit that made me get them is ridiculously excited, so I'm sure they work, haha.

My all time favourite
This is a deck I have used daily over the years, the colours are vibrant and the message from the cards are clear as the artwork holds much symbolism and fine detail to allow yourself to find the unique meaning of each card. This deck allows for the reader to have fun with the reading as the all dragon deck has no people just wonderful dragons so it is for the true dragon lover. This is the deck for those who want to explore the realm of dragons, it is for the fantasy lover as well as the dragon lover and for any who truly enjoy something a little different from the other decks as this offers vibrant colour and wonderful dragons to entertain you while you read these cards... the symbolism hidden within the cards will allow depth to the reading as well as keep you learning from the cards every reading.

If you love Dragons, You'll Love this Deck
This is my second deck of Dragon Tarot cards (replacement for the same set that burned in a house fire)I have searched everywhere for this deck and finely found it here. You can't bet the price, my first deck cost me almost $40.00 about 10 years ago. I thought I would be paying about the same. I love the pictures and am so happy to have this deck again. My son is also ordering a deck since the price is good. I may also buy a second deck to frame and display in my home they are so beautiful.
