I've been using the Venum Predator Mouth Guard for a while now, and I couldn't be more satisfied with its performance. When you first insert it into your mouth it seems like it is too small. Do not be decieved!!! Do what the first step of the instruction says and VIEW IT IN THE MIRROR! Basically, when you fit it, you want to make sure your bottom jaw aligns in the middle of the mouthguard... For me this means I had to extend my bottom jaw forwards. I did that a few times and used my thumbs as placeguard holders on the bottom to ensure my bottom teeth were centered in the correct position. After the boiling and cooldown, while in front of a mirror, bite down when it is aligned sideways properly and your bottom jaw meets the center. For 5 seconds (10 for me) you suck while clenching your jaw (still centered in the lower jaw) while slightly pulling your lower jaw backwards to a more natural position and pressing in the center and middle of your front 2 teeth as well as the canines. I used my middle and pointer finger in the middle and then followed it after with the canines still in the middle vertically, followed by repeating the middle and sides again. After this you do the edges. During this period of time I pressed the UPPER EDGES of the front and angled (canine) sides of the jaw. This time using my pointer and middle fingers on both hands instead of just one hand as I did in the previous step... I followed this up halfway through the timer doing the same for the bottom edges, pressing the bottom sides with my pointer and middle fingers while biting and sucking.... ONLY... I used my thumbs to put extra force on my jaw, pushing it upwards fairly hard while also pulling my jaw rearwards (using my jaw only) into a more natural position. This fitment trick made it fit extremely comfortably and in perfect position. I set a timer in a measurement bowl of ice and water and left the guard green full side down held under water for the 10 minutes. I am missing the rear 2 teeth on each side of my mouth both top and bottom, aside from one on my lower bottom side. Most mouth guards I have had to trim away with scissors due to comfortability issues. Doing it the way I did, I did not need to trim anything, it formed around my gums and the breathing channel at the bottom front works perfect. I hope this review can help others achieve perfect fitment in your mouth.

pretty good, kind of bulky but if you like that then that’s okay. don’t bite down on them too hard otherwise the bottom parts will start to fall apart

We tried several boil and bite mouthguards for my son, and this was our last attempt before resorting to an expensive custom order. Thankfully, this one works great, and I think the secret to a better fit is that the moldable material on this piece extends higher over the ridge of the gums than the other brands we tried. That makes for a more secure fit. In fact, the directions have you press onto the top of your gums for the majority of the fitting process. We followed the boiling tip by another review that said to simmer with 200 degree boil, instead of a hotter, full rolling boil that some people complained melted their product, and that was plenty hot for a good fit. He can speak clearly, breath, and isn’t gagged like he was with other brands. The fangs only show when he smiles. All in all we’re very happy with this guard.

I love the mouth guard but it isn’t holding up. It may last me 2 months of 3/5 days a week Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, if I am careful. It’s the most comfortable mouth guard I’ve ever worn, though it is pretty thick. It’s impossible to talk clearly while wearing it though I didn’t expect to be able to. The little rubber on the bottom for your teeth got bit through in my first 2 times wearing it to practice. I can still use it but I’m sure the protection is already being compromised by the material falling off. I don’t know if I will buy another. Again this is a great guard but not really a daily driver due to it falling apart so quickly.

i do jiujitsu x3 times a week, and this mouthguard has been a life saver! easy product to fit/adjust and good quality. i am sad when i forget it and feel unsafe without during sparring.
