Works great for a great price!
I used this to replace the blower on my Napoleon fireplace insert. The model I have came with two blowers, one on each side. This one seems to work well even though not exactly as the original. I had to take one piece off the housing of the old one and attach it to this one to make it work. I think this one moves about the same amount of air and is only slightly louder than the original. For the price, I would buy it again when the other side needs replaced. If you think it is worth it, you may like the original better.

Napolean/Continental Fireplace blower (GZ552) Rotom Replacement # R7-RB61
The media could not be loaded. I needed a replacement blower for my Napolean Wood Insert, model #1401. I looked around and saw that the "OEM" blowers, part #GZ552, were from $140 (Internet Price) to $200 (Local Stove Shop Price).I found this item and it stated to be a replacement for the GZ552 and at 1/2 the cost of OEM. The image I saw resembled my part so I gave it shot after I had contacted previous buyers and they were happy with it.What I got was different from what I expected, but in short, it fit like it is suppose to and it works. No modifications needed.

Motor ceases after year
This is my third install of this same heater fan. Every year for three consecutive years. The original lasted 5. I'm giving it three stars because they do honor the warranty and Amazon has been great. It's also not a bad thing to open the fireplace and vacuum all the dust out, much like spring cleaning. You're just forced into yearly maintenance if you buy this product. Know that going in and you'll be fine.

How to improve thr product.
It is a big negative that the unit doesn't have a way to anchor it - as the old unit I replaced had. For that reason I do not think I would buy it again. It was a hassle to find the way to anchor the unit. It is a design shortcoming that should be addressed. Otherwise it is a good blower - smooth and quite running - much quieter that the old one - the smoothness and quietness are great positives. Put a lip on the unit to anchor it - and you will have great a first rate product.

The Price is Right
Relatively easy to install if you have moderate "handy" skills. Definitely easier to install with the entire gas insert removed from the fireplace, but I'd expect it could be done with the insert in place since the blower installs through the front and inside the gas insert not behind it. It does what its suppose to and was a lot cheaper through amazon than my local store. I've used it two seasons now and haven't had any trouble. Good buy so far.

... direction not that big an issue but would have liked to fit the right way the other reason I ...
Not the same as original slight differences have a Napoleon 1401 model with 2 fans one on each side needed to replace right side fan to make it work properly needed to mount fan upside down so air flow would be going in the correct direction not that big an issue but would have liked to fit the right way the other reason I give it one star is because it only lasted for one winter had to replace the same fan again definitely not as good as original fan's that comes from Germany hopefully this other one will last More than a year we will see
