The closest I've been to the ice in years
When my family moved away from the hockey-crazed town I grew up in, I thought my hockey days were over. There's a dilapidated basketball court I would never dare skate on, and apart from occasionally slapping a pick around there, I was right. Then I discovered this product.I discovered slide boards on YouTube, looking for a good way to put some hockey back into my workout routine, and if you search "office hockey rink" you're likely to see the same video. It was for a different slide board but the idea was the same. And this guy had these tiles for stickhandling, and a fancy dangler and passer, and I was fascinated. I've never had a home gym, but I really wanted a "home rink"! And that's what I got in this slide board (I don't have any of the other stuff yet, but can't wait till I can swing it lol).It works fine on carpet, but I don't recommend it if you can avoid it. I've been using it in my bedroom, and today I noticed one of the ends had moved on me. I was pushing the end off the slidey part with my stride. I expect this is because, when used on a hard surface as they suggest, the rubber base grips the floor better than it would carpet.Anyway, the product is as advertised, pretty pricey but worth it. I've been using it in my room for well over a week now, and I've even been stickhandling a foam ball (and using the box the slide board came in as a poor man's passer). I still want to buy some of those tiles so I can use a real puck, and (like the guy in the video) some tiles to put under the slide board, but honestly I'm EXTREMELY satisfied with the slide board by itself! Sliding around on it feels very much like skating, and I love that you can adjust the width (I don't have near as wide a stride even though I'm a pretty big dude). The "booties" fit snugly around my sneakers (I use the biggest booties and wear a size 12 shoe), and the slide board is easy enough to pack up once you get the hang of it. Packing it up does take some figuring out at first, but I've gotten to where I can set it up AND put my sneakers/booties on in ~4 minutes (the same goes for packing it up and taking my shoes off).Bottom line, this is a DANG good piece of training equipment. If you love hockey but live in an area where there are no rinks for a hundred miles, you gotta have this. If you're a serious hockey player looking for some off-season training, I would recommend it to you too (MAN do I wish I had this when I played in college!). As for me, I feel like I'm playing hockey again! And someday (Lord willing) I'll get to a real rink and skate like I never stopped playing. :)

Better workout then expected
I was surprised at how good of a burn your legs get from this. Only reason I did 4 stars is because the ends move a little more than I would like. I'm a 200 lbs guy so I'm sliding with a lot of weight towards them but wish the ends would move so much

Fantastic Slide Board for the whole family!
Is it more expensive than the other options on Amazon? Yes. Is it worth it?? YES!!I've used multiple slide boards over the years and found a wide spectrum of quality. The Better Hockey Extreme Slide Board Pro is fantastic for the whole family. What I appreciate most is the ends are of sufficient weight to ensure that it doesn't slide around and helps ensure it stays flat.Additionally, having the ability to adjust the length is fantastic to support new sliders, as well as smaller sliders, such as children. I was extremely pleased with the Slide Board!

Made for children
Broke a part very quickly. I used it with the provided booties over my socks and my feet kept sliding under the bracket that holds the board together. I kept tightening it but it kept happening. Also the stoppers would not hold in place. The stoppers would get wider and wider. Again I kept tightening and that didn’t solve the issue. Then I tried wearing shoes and the provided booties would not fit over my shoes. I used hockey socks over my shoes and this seemed the solve the issue with my feet going under the bracket but the bracket would still get wider and wider. I kept tightening until the bracket finally snapped from tightening.

Just what we wanted
This does everything it says it does. Works great. Easy to use

Skate substitute but nothing like the real thing.
Fun hockey workout if you can keep the ends from sliding. Place 25lb. weights behind each end but didn't help one bit. Wiped down the board and stoppers but still slid. Board is all scratched up. I give a three because it is still convenient when the weather isnt.

Great for off-ice figure skaters' exercises
Makes training at home possible. My 11 year old figure skater is benefiting from being able to improve power strokes and general strength. Appears to be very durable. Moving it and folding/rolling it back into storage is not easy and fast but it is manufactured to last.

Be prepared to (attempt to) solve some problems
Pros:✔Durability - you can pass this on to your great, great, great grand kids✔easy to adjust - just twist the knobs and slide the end adjusters✔mat does not slip (on my gym floor which has typical foam flooring material), the end pieces are extremely heavy so I doubt it will slide on just about any surface✔The sliding surface is quite slipperyCons:✔yes, the end adjusters do slide out of adjustment as you use it, after 5 minutes they're way off...✔If you don't wear shoes, your feet will get caught under the end adjustors (that have a gap under them)✔How on earth do you store this thing? Big, heavy, floppy, hard to roll up (unwieldy and does not roll tightly), you need a huge bungee cord, and once you roll it up - where do you put it?✔Oil used to make it slippery comes of on my gym floor - making it slippery (a huge consideration if you are going from board sliding to some other floor exercise). So you have several problems to solve, if you plan to keep this thing.
