The men's Furio Jacket is a workhorse for alpine exploits demanding total stormproof protection. The lightweight, breathable 70D GORE-TEX fabric sheds the elements and expels internal moisture, while the rugged GORE-TEX Pro fabric adds reinforcement to the shoulders and sides. The fully adjustable hood fits securely over a helmet, and TorsoFlo hem-to-bicep side zips offer ventilation when the going gets steep and your body temperature begins to climb.

Excellent so far.
I scored this jacket on Sierra Trading Post for a 160 bucks on close out. Couldn't pass up that deal. This jacket is very well designed and constructed. I've had it for a few weeks now and haven't given it a serious workout yet but did have to walk in a cold/freezing rain here in CT a few weeks ago. The jacket kept me perfectly dry. Have been wearing it daily in this brutal cold winter. Amazingly wind proof and has great venting options. The hood is very adjustable. Lots of thoughtful touches like a cord management system for the hood cords and waste cords. The inner chest pocket has a pass through for headphone cords. The jacket is also very light in weight. The fit is trimmer than my old Moonstone gore-tex shell. I am nearly 6'2" 175lb and the medium fits great. Just don't expect to wear more than a base and a mid layer fleece under it. This a perfect backpacking shell, light, functional, weatherproof and bombproof.Update 1/29/15: So the bottom seam on the right hand lower pocket blew out a few weeks ago. Seems like the adhesive let go, tearing the inner Gore Tex liner. Contacted OR and they are sending a replacement ASAP. Good customer service so far. A bit bummed they don't make the two tone blue jacket anymore. Going with the straight blue. Oh well. Hoping this was just a defective jacket and not a design flaw. The bottom of the pocket doesn't seem well reinforced. Time will tell.Still going with 5 stars on this review. May down grade if the next jacket doesn't hold up.Update 6/1/2016:Well, I have put the replacement jacket through the wringer for the past year a half and I am still in love with this jacket. It's been trekking in Peru, hiking in New England, skiing in Utah and it has performed beautifully. I purchased the OR Transcendent Hoody down jacket it is the perfect cold weather combo with this shell. Plan on taking both to Nepal this coming September. So my 5 star rating is validated in my mind. This is a great performing jacket. (Not sure why the photo's aren't displaying correctly)

Top-quality shell, especially for cold weather
This jacket has served for 2+ years as my go-to rain jacket and winter shell around town, and as my outer layer on winter hiking trips in the Adirondaks. It is rain proof as you would expect from this fabric at this price point. But where it really shines is in the temperature control. The armpit-to-hem pit zips, together with the drawstrings at the hem and hood, let you take this from being a pretty tightly insulated shell that holds a lot of heat at the start of a hike (or when breaking for food), to being almost an open poncho that serves to keep the elements off you while staying highly ventilated. And the jacket's durability has been excellent, with almost no signs of wear after a couple years of use.The only drawbacks are that even when unzipped the fabric is (for me) too heavy to wear in really warm temps -- I mostly put this shell away in New England summers. And like most "hard" shells it is not very snuggly -- for example, the taped seams scratch at your chin a little when zipped up. But assuming you need a seriously insulating and weather-proof shell, this is a great choice. At 5'10" medium fits well.

probably the best shell i have ever owned.
I got the Furio off-season at deep discount. But it's probably worth the full price. it's a lightweight shell which is extremely waterproof and very breathable and made with very high-quality materials. the design is ingenious and very well thought out. all the zippers are waterproof laminates. there are two chest pockets with zipper garages which double as quick vents. the two large side pockets also vent. the main zipper is two-way. and the pit zips extend all the way to the hem, allowing you to wear it as a poncho. that's a lot of venting options. even with the vents closed, the GoreTex Paclite material used in the main body is highly breathable and very lightweight -- amazing how light it is, considering the level of protection from the elements this provides. the chest, arms, and shoulders have Goretex Pro Shell which adds durability to high-wear areas. the velcro-adjustable cuffs are very small and made of fabric -- i have a North Face shell which has rubber cuff straps which show signs of wear after a few years. the jacket also dries very quickly and doesn't feel clammy on the inside. it also has an adjustable hood. IMO this jacket is better than the North Face and Mountain Hardwear shells i have, and just as high-quality as Arc'Tyrx, at a lower price. In fact, Arc-Tyrx has a very similar Paclite/Pro Shell hybrid jacket, the Alpha SL, which has the Pro shell fabric only on the tops of the shoulders and under the arms, instead of on the outside of the arms like the Furio. The Arc'Tyrx costs much more, but the Furio is as good or better. if you're looking for a technical shell that can handle just about everything thrown at it, look no further.

Not Waterproof. Quality problems.
Bought this jacket 4 years ago .. First half a year it worked ... I mean it was waterproof. That's it . Next year if I get under short heavy shower or couple hours of light rain - I just get wet. Shoulders area, sleeves, hood you just get wet in all areas (protected by Gore-Tex Pro or lite membrane). Knowing my version was a combination of Gore-Tex lite and Gore-Tex Pro - I expected this jacket to perform well in rainy days but seems it's only on paper not in real life) . Washed it using detergent that designed for Gore-Tex products, in hope to restore it waterproof ability - nothing worked. In addition, hood seams ripped. So as for now this jacket goes to trash bin. .Definitely not worth money i paid for it.Will think since twice now before buying OR product Wish i bought something more reliable . Hope this quality issues not apply for other high end OR products

Great jacket
Used these in Alaska salmon fishing trip, it was absolutely POURING that day we fished for 8 hours stayed completely dry. Totally worth the price. These don't have any insulation - make sure you pack a lot under if you are planning to go somewhere cold.
