Ignore the negatives, this bottle is great!
I've been using this water bottle for 2 months now and love it. Honestly, I almost skipped it because of all the negative reviews and not wanting to buy yet another water bottle I would be disappointed with--but this one is PERFECT. I'm not sure if some reviewers got defective/unauthentic bottles or just weren't....using it correctly? To comment on some of the negative reviews:-The bottle has a straw, you do not tip it to drink from but keep it vertical--if you do this the water flow is great! I think folks complaining of poor water flow are probably tipping the bottle like a regular glass. Bonus: using the straw is essentially silent unlike camel backs---I work in a quiet area and use this at work no problem.-The straw goes to the bottom of the bottle, you can drink 100% of the water from the bottle no problem.-I've not had this leak when filled to the marked "max fill line", but still probably wouldn't throw it in a bag. I love this bottle because I can use it at my job since its a covered spill proof bottle.-Using it daily for 2 months I've had no issues with mold, I try to remember to empty it and I'll take it apart to airdry overnight, once a week I'll let it soak in hot soapy water, use a scrubber on the bottle and try to get as much as the mouth piece as possible. so far no mold!- I ran the filter under the faucet for 30 seconds and there was a teeny amount of charcoal in the pulled water the first day but nothing noticeable or detectable via taste, after the first fill its all clear. It makes the water taste great!- the parts snap into place, its intuitive to take apart and put together and after disassembling it daily nothing has worn down or broken at all, the parts are durable plastic and overall the bottle feels very high quality and well made. All in all it was a solid purchase and I'm very happy with it and the fact I can stop searching for the elusive perfect water bottle! The brita filters aren't too expensive and they do make the water taste great! Anyways I bought this bottle myself, it felt like a ridiculous splurge for me but is genuinely worth it.

Love it
I bought this for a trip to South Africa only to find out the tap water is actually really goods. Better safe than sorry. The color is really pretty and it fits in my backpack side sling for a water bottle easily. The water tasted good and hopefully filtered out any impurities. It is made of hard plastic that seemed like it wouldn’t break or crack and I experienced no spillage.

Great water bottle.
Next day delivery! I have loved this water bottle for a few years then dropped and broke it. Ordered the same one.

Mostly brilliant, with a few design flaws
The media could not be loaded. I bought this water bottle to take on a long road trip. I use a Britta pitcher at home and wanted the same level of filtration for the campground and hotel water I would be drinking. So far it is working great... mostly. Right off the bat, I was really pleased with the ergonomics of the thing. It fits nicely in my car's cupholder. When I'm driving and feel like a drink of water, I can pick up the bottle, open it, take a drink, close it again, and put it back in the cupholder, all with one hand and without taking my eyes off the road. Long drives are thirsty work, so this has turned out to be super useful.I saw some reviews complaining that the straw offers too much resistance. This hasn't been an issue for me. It's about like drinking a soft milkshake through a big straw. What has been an issue is the filling experience. To fill the bottle, you have to unscrew the top. This comes away and brings the straw with it. There is water in the straw, and this invariably drains onto my pants and shoes. I'm left holding the bottle in one hand and the top / straw in the other, and then have to manipulate the spigot or whatever I'm filling from. There is a fill line on the bottle (located on the opposite side from the Britta logo, which feels backwards), and this is important. If you fill the bottle to the brim and then replace the top, the straw displaces a bunch of water. More water on the shoes and pants. But, if you fill it this way, you're leaving capacity on the table: as soon as you pull water up into the straw, the bottle is no longer full. The pro way is to fill the bottle to the brim, then pull some water up into the straw *before* replacing the top. All of this is a major rigmarole, and not a fun one to repeat multiple times a day. There is another usability problem with this bottle. It occurs when the bottle is partly full and left in the sun or a hot car. The air trapped in the bottle expands, and when you open the lid, the water inside the straw is forced out... onto your shoes and pants. I've had this happen enough times now that I should see it coming, but it continues to surprise and annoy me.All in all, this thing is really good, and I would buy it again if I lost it or broke it. I just hope they sort out the usability problems with the next generation.UPDATE 2/6/2023: After five or six months of continuous use, I started to notice a dark stain on the inside of the mouthpiece. It didn't taste bad, but it looked bad. Guessing charcoal from the filter had permeated the soft rubber material. Dish soap and peroxide didn't help.Brita doesn't sell mouthpiece replacements for this bottle, but some third party manufacturers do. I bought a two pack from AIEVE. The old mouthpiece came out easily, and the new one was a perfect fit. Material is slightly more textured than the original. Nice to be rid of the dark stain.UPDATE 8/10/2023: After 14 months of continuous use, the lid latch is starting to break (see photos). It still holds, but I'm expecting it to fail soon.UPDATE 8/16/2024: After 2 years 7 months of ownership, the lip of the lid finally snapped. The lid won't stay closed anymore, which makes the whole bottle pretty useless. Time for a replacement! The latching mechanism is another weak point that I'd like to see redesigned.
