The Daily Face: 25 Makeup Looks for Day, Night, and Everything In Between!

I love this little book! The photographs and technical production of the book quality-wise is beautifully done. All of the instructions are very easy to follow and I do agree with the other reviewers that this is probably best for someone just starting to get serious with doing their makeup (like I am). I’m in my late 20’s and have worn makeup since my early teens but never really went beyond beyond basic foundation/mascara/minimal eyeliner until very recently, and this book has been instrumental in my journey to branch out with new eye looks. Haven’t tried all of the looks in this book yet but so far my faves are the Gold Day and the Little Odessa. Most of these looks seem like they’d be flattering on anyone. :-) I only gave this book 4 stars instead of 5 though because she almost completely neglects to say much about foundation/concealer due to her own admission that she rarely wears it—if we all had flawless skin like hers I’m sure most of us would love to also forego foundation but I just don’t think that’s a reality for most of us, so I believe that was a bit of oversight on her part. But otherwise, great book and I def recommend it to beginners of all ages. Plus imo when you’re not using it, it looks really cute to display on a bookshelf or coffee table. Lol.

The Daily Face is beautifully presented! It gives clear and concise instruction on a variety of looks from very natural, to evening make up, and even fun costume applications. I love that it includes all of the tools that one needs to achieve the desired look. It can be a helpful guide from teenage years to the mature woman. I have bought several copies of this book to give as a gift!

Really useful for some simple but effective looks for someone just starting out with make up. Easy to follow and nothing too heavy or in depth. Can do most looks with basic make up. Even some halloween looks in here :)

I really wanted to like this but I was totally underwhelmed....all the different "looks" are kind of the same with different colored eyeshadow. There wasn't much about brow grooming (which judging from the author having amazeball eyebrows there would be). I really wish there had been pics of the models before the makeup was applied so you could get a sense of how much the makeup actually did for each girl. This book would possibly be good for super beginners at using makeup like your 13 year old niece.

it's a good book for minimalistic makeup and can use it for ideas for customizing my look. But def prefer youtube for tutorials and training.

I was hoping for more style ideas for everyday wear and it was more about creating different looks with different colors like green, purple, etc. There were some helpful ideas about application and make-up choices, but I could have easily have found the same info on youtube make-up tutorials or blogs.

Clear easy to follow directions. Doesn't necessarily expect you to be able to do basic things eyeliner before you start (though my wings are still pretty sad.) I've basically loved every look I've done out of it, and I've been carrying it in my suitcase since I got it!

I gave this book to my best friend because she asked from something fun yet practical for Christmas. She loves make-up and loves finding new ways to apply it, so this book was perfect!
