Menicon Progent Intensive Cleaner

This cleaner worked GREAT on my gas permeable contacts! The next day after cleaning when I put them in my eyes, I could tell a definite difference in my comfort. My eyes had been bothering me for a really long time with feeling gritty numerous times throughout the day, and now they feel great all the time! In addition, I felt that my vision was a little bit more clear, too, most noticed when I was reading a book.I researched ahead of time and realized that this kit, which includes 7 cleaning treatments, does not come with the required receptacle (vial) for holding the contacts during cleaning, so I first purchased the other kit this seller sells, called "Menicon Progent vial protein removal (for hardware)" to try it out and acquire the vial, since the "hardware" set includes the contact lens vial and one cleaning treatment. As far as the lack of rinsing solution so many people mentioned, that was no big deal. I learned that the rinsing solution just consists of a standard saline solution, so I went to a local store and just bought a bottle of plain old contact lens saline solution to use for rinsing. I confirmed this by reading the manufacturer's literature -- their rinsing solution IS plain saline solution.Since the cleaning treatment worked so great and I now own the necessary vial, I went back to Amazon and placed a new order for this set - the one that includes 7 cleaning treatments. Now I'm set to go! I have the vial, the rinsing solution, and the 7 cleaning treatments, for when I need to do another cleaning!This was also all much cheaper than buying from the U.S., and in addition, buying from the U.S. distributor would have been a pain, because they make you have an eye doctor's required number of some sort before letting you order it. That sort of thing was totally unnecessary and not required to order from the Japanese manufacturer, which is where Menicon Progent originates from anyway!The Japanese company is now putting a page of English directions in with their packages, but in case they don't, just go to:meniconamerica.com/consumer/lens-care/menicon-lens-care/menicon-progent for an instruction video, and at the bottom of the page you can click "Download the package insert" for the full actual English package instructions.

Here's the deal...I have scleral lenses which are simply a special kind of rigid gas perm lense. They are great lenses, but they had been getting noticeably cloudier over the past year...to such a degree that I could not see well. What's "interesting" is that the fancy clinic and clinicians who fit them for me originally never told me about using something like Progent to clean them...nor did the very competent clinician whom I recently consulted. I have been faithful to do the daily hydro per cleaning, but of course now I know this only cleans in some ways...it does not address protein/calcium deposits. I used Progent for the first time yesterday, and the the difference is night and day. WOW!!! Yes I ordered this set from Japan which does NOT include instructions in English nor does it include any rinsing solution. But the price is right, you simply need to research a bit to find the instructions and it seems to me that you really can use any normal rinsing solution. I will continue to order and use Progent and make my lenses like new for as long as they last!

First time purchasers may not want to order from this Japanese supplier. The item came promptly, even though shipped from Japan, and appears to be the same Progent cleaner that I have used here in the US.However, although the receptacle is pictured, it is not included. All you get are the A and B vials of Progent. Not a problem for me, as I still had receptacles from my last purchase of a Progent kit. By receptacle, I am referring to the little green-top bottle into which you pour the Progent, and which has holders to suspend the lenses in the solution while it acts.Also, the documentation is all in Japanese, NO English. Again not a problem for me since I already knew the method of use and the precautions contained in the documentation, but if you're a first time user you should probably get a Progent kit with documentation in a language you understand.As the negatives don't affect me, I would order from this supplier again.

Great product and good value.My suggestion is to buy this cleaner in US first. The US version comes with a vial and English instruction. Keep the vial and English instruction. Later you can order this cleaner from Japan to save money. The Japanese version does not come with sterile water. You can buy the sterile water at other place.

I ordered this specific item because it was supposed to include the RGP case for cleaning your contacts. My order was delivered today - sooner than projected, but did not include the case. I have the actual solution - its the case I'm having issues in getting. I will be speaking with my doctor about a different cleaner as this one seem to be in short supply and only available from China

So glad to get this on Amazon. For RGP users, this is the product to extended life of your lenses... I find it over-kill to use monthly, so I use it as needed which is usually every three to four months. Much better than anything else on the market. I do have the original Menicon container for cleaning, but I guess normal contact cases can work once you make sure you mix the solutions 1:1.

This product works very well to keep hard contacts clear of protein debris, and it seems to make the lenses more comfortable.

I thought I was getting away cheaply, but when I got this I saw that it only has the A and B components. Other brands have a C component that is sterile saline for rinsing the contacts off. Live and learn.

I’ve had Scleral lenses for a few months. I don’t wear them very often and I clean them well. They get very cloudy and recently they have been worse. I decided to try this product, just after 25 mins I could not believe the amount of dirt that car off my contact lenses. I didn’t think they looked dirty at all but after using this product I can see the difference. Sparkly clean. Brilliant. Very happy.
