I have purchased so many wood panels by U.S Art Supply I lost count a long time ago. In all different sizes. They have always met or exceeded my expectations. I have used them for acrylic and resin pouring, collage, acrylic, and watercolor paintings, and even used them flipped over as a niche. They have not warped or buckled - even with the rigors of acrylic pouring (plain and covered in resin) or watercolor painting. Good quality at a great price with fast delivery. If only they could improve the quality of my art when trying new media!Bottom Line: I highly recommend the wood panels put out by U.S. Art Supply, and I wouldn't recommend something I don't use and love enough to recommend to my friends and family. (Remember, those people know where I live! Haha) These 8x16" panels are no exception. These are priced much better than my local art store and the quality is just as good, if not better. I don't hesitate to buy any size I need from this great supplier. Come to think of it, I've bought many, many supplies from U.S. Art Supplies and have never had an issue with any of their products. The wood panels just happen to be my favorite.

These are not truly birch panels; it’s a paper thin birch slice glued onto something else and I watched a huge bubble form on one of the two after applying gesso to it. I would not ever buy these again. They can feel free to replace this one with a non-defective one.The photo is of the chunk I cut out trying to decide what was going on with the huge bubble that formed in my painting ten minutes after applying the gesso. Won’t be buying again.

These were, indeed, wood. That’s the only good thing I can say about them.1.). They weren’t the exact same size. More than 1/4” difference.2.). They needed sanding3.). They had bumps, ripples and bulges all over the front that were not apparent until painted4.). Came with no hangers either on them or to attachI was completely disappointed and would have paid more money for a better product.

I bought these panels for encaustic painting. As I was brushing on my base coat of beeswax I was amazed that the surface is as smooth as silk! Not a single rough spot — it felt like finished furniture! The cradle is nice and sturdy, the substrate is thick. For the pair I bought there wasn’t a single knot even on the cradles. Will definitely buy again.

This brand is not as smooth as another brand name I've tried. It isn't sanded as well and there are fuzzy bits at the seams. Despite priming it with transparent watercolor primer according to directions, my paint leaked from where I put it into the grains of the wood outside of where I wanted it. I didnt have this problem with the other brand. It may not matter depending on what kind of art you're doing on top, but I definitely wouldn't use it with watercolor/primer. I'll be paying more for a better quality product to sell to my collectors.

Having never used this brand before, I have to admit I was leery of the quality. The 2 pack arrived in perfect condition and I have to say are perfect for resin/Acrylic art. I would recommend these boards to anyone that is doing acrylic or resin pours. I’m

I order many of these boards in various sizes from art supply stores...shipping can be expensive. I had been searching for this size and so pleased to find them on Amazon! Good quality and with Prime shipping it was a bargain! Will purchase more!

But there were some issues with the wood like, some had dents one was slightly broken but it wasn't broken to where it would break off. One dent is barely visible. This is my first time buying these so yeah I would recommend but with caution.
