100 Hits Legends-Andy Williams

I know, I know....Most Andy Williams fans already have most of these songs on other albums and collections. However- what makes this collection so appealing is the fact that it is very reasonably priced(much cheaper still on Amazon.co.uk!)and the majority of the songs are taken from live performances(they're a little different and "live" is always interesting!), mostly from his great tv series from the sixties. (I understand that he retained the rights to most of his live performances. Smart man!)The sound is fine and the booklet quite informative. If you love Andy, you need to buy this set! In fact, buy several, they'll make fine Christmas gifts!

One great collection of studio and live recordings of some of the greatest songs of the 40's-70's, Andy's way.A must for all collectors as it includes some of the greatest pop and movie classics as well as his versions ofgreat hits like Yesterday, God Only Knows and I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry.Great sound and clarity, almost like being front row at The Moon River Theatre.A great complement to his "Moon River and Me", memoir.5 stars for timeliness, packaging, value and satisfaction.

Some of thes songs are great, some are awful...like Desperado...one of my favorite songs...and Andy has one of the best voices of all time...you'd think it would be a perfect match, right? Wrong, he was off that day. But if you want to hear rarely heard songs of Andy Williams at a good value, this is a great buy. By FAR his best album, in my opinion, is his Movie Themes album, with a perfect recording of Moon River, songs from West Side Story, and one of his best songs...Love is a Many Splendored Thing. Moon River: The Very Best of Andy Williams This is in addition his Christmas Album, which is unsurpassed. The Andy Williams Christmas Album It was hard to only give Andy Williams four stars for anything, but some of these songs are weak (like the version of Moon River on this compilation - it's from a show with people clapping and all, and it's not as good as the studio version).

I bought 100 Hits Legends Bing Crosby, 100 Hits Legends Perry Como and 100 Hits Legends Andy Williams for my parents. They are just on either side of 90 so these are perfect for their generation - and are equally wonderful for anyone who enjoys this music genre. My parents appreciate having hours and hours of listening enjoyment. My father has a beautiful tenor voice and I grew up hearing him sing along with these three legends. I'm anxious to listen along (and hear my father sing) when I visit them next.

Quite a few of the songs on this 5 cd set are "Live with applause" and leave somewhat to be desired. The Title "100 Hits" is misleading also There is only 15 of Andy's charted hits pre 1961 which are origional recordings.Disc one and two and three have his Cadence singles and some LP recordings Discs 4, and 5, have "26 Live tracks" and some tracks from 2001 & 2006. I will only take a few select few to be aired.This is a fairly good set because it covers 1956-62 with a few suprisingly nice songs that were not charted. I heard for the first time. I've been a radio DeeJay for over 55 years. Another Good selling point is that it is Inexpensive! If you don't have any Andy Williams, This set will make you happy.Brian Lee HartWVUD RadioNewark De

I love this multi-CD song collection and highly recommend it! Andy Williams has always been a favorite singer of mine. It is a medley of some of the most beautiful songs ever -- popular songs representative of various decades in the 20th century, show tunes, as well as "classic Andy" songs like Moon River. It takes me back to a simpler, more wonderful time in life.

My life has been impacted by Andy Williams since I can earliest remember. I still consider casual dress-up to include a sweater. This collection covers material I don't recall having heard, and it is delightful. The most commonly known songs are here, but it is the nuggets of his earliest recordings that make this collection so very special. If you truly enjoy his music, this is the collection you should have.
