a brilliant book at a reasonable price. The only down side is that it relates to the 2.2litre engine not the 2.0 litre engine I own. Shame this wasn't made clear on the description..

this is the american spec celica so some differences esp to engine but well laid out with lots of exploded diagrams. I have found it very useful. this is the second chilton book I have had and I would certainly buy another

This manual - Chilton 68254 - targets the North American cars and covers the 5S-FE and 7A-FE engines. For me in Europe, this means that some of the vocabulary is different and also there are various differences in the cars themselves, sometimes making this book misleading; given that it clearly says "U.S. and Canadian" on the cover I figure I have to live with this.But the contents are still very uneven: as a simple owner I'm unlikely to ever try to rebuild the engine myself so can't comment on those chapters, nonetheless for smaller tasks I soon run out of guidance. For example, trim panels inside the boot are held in by a variety of strange plastic fasteners (rather than bolts/screws) with no explanation as to how to undo them in one piece. The wiring diagrams only cover the engine and lights; nothing at all on the rear window demister (which affects roadworthiness).

I'm a 40 something female whose been driving celicas for over 14 years. Owned a 1996 1.8St for 11 years, and own a 1994 Gt for 3. Wanted an indepth manual which included a full dismantle of internal and external.. this manual does not cover it. Although I'm a car club member, wanted something at hand, instead of loading up the laptop.. have had to download guides from club to use as resources. This manual is in paperback, and is not as good quality as Haynes.. shame Haynes did not produce a manual for these cars.

Doesn't matter what maintenance book you buy, they're all great to have for your car. Lately, it's much easier to go to your specified car forums online and see the DIY writeups, but having a book always comes in handy too! If you own a car, get the books or the online books if you don't want the paperback.

this is a good manual about USA Celica . tecnichal pages and schemes are good!! not including the turbo GT4

This is a complete guide to virtually all the possible maintenance routines that could be done to the car. You find very nice self-explaining diagrams and things like diagnose code charts for pre-OBDII models.The only problem to me, is that I own a 98' Celica with a 3S-FE engine. The book focused on models with 5S-FE and 7A-FE engines, as those sold in USA and Canada. Even tough, is still very helpful, because I can follow most of the procedures described, using the owner's manual to complete the missing information.
