KYBSM5619 - Shock Mount, Black

These are fine mounts equally comparable to the factory ones. Used with some generic new shocks. Some people said that these failed on them prematurely because of corrosion. I say, especially if you live in the salt belt, add a thick coat of paint to protect these. These are bare aluminum, and the surface of the aluminum casting is a little grainy and makes it easy for salt spray to cling and corrode over time. People forget aluminum corrodes just as bad as steel if not worse and turns to powder when not protected.

Fit as it should, seemed to be well made. Can’t speak to longevity due to only been installed less than a year, but so far I’m happy with no complaints

I like the product however I do think the main mating flat surface should be thicker; perhaps another 2mm - 3mm. This is a primary Mazda Design issue and not a manufacturer design flaw. Here in the Great Lakes region in the USA (Ohio), we utilize road salt and other deicing fluids during our hearty Winters. These Mazda rear shock mounts would last much longer if the bolted flanged portion was thicker. All of these are manufactured with the thinner flange design. Other than roadsalt or extremely bumpy road conditions, this product will hold up as designed. I imagine these lasting a decade or longer in milder climates where road deicing compounds are not used and roads are just generally smoother. Lastly, these rear shock mounts are actually not too difficult to install.

I bought two of these for my 2010 Mazda 3. My previous shock mounts both shattered within a few months of each other last year due to being incredibly corroded over the course of a decade of wear. I've used these replacements for almost a year now, and I have had no issues with them thus far. I will update this review in the event that they fail.If you drive in the city (or in an area with lots of road salt due to snow), I'd recommend putting some silicone grease over the surface of your shock mounts. It only cost a few dollars, and can potentially slow the inevitable corrosion.

Every time I've needed one of these, the Dorman are the only ones I ever saw. Now I see KYB is making them. I figured they were probably exactly the same component just rebranded, but they actually do look like they're manufactured in different factories. Regardless - the KYB model looks and works great. It's a pretty simple piece but I like that the price is just about the same as with Dorman. I would have expected the KYB model to be a little pricer. Anyways, time will tell how long this particular one holds up but I usually get a few years out of these before they corrode and break.

Easy to install. Added new shocks as well.

Its quality and reasonable price

These parts were a perfect fit for my Mazda 5 car repair. They were easy to use and replace the old ones. It has been almost 7 months since the repair has been made and my car works really well, with no more noise.I would definitely buy these again and strongly recommend them.
