Los Debutantes is the debut feature from Chilean co-writer-director Andres Waissbluth. The film was a huge success in its native country, where it picked up a handful of prizes and became Chiles Official Oscar Submission Film last year. Victor (Juan Pablo Miranda) and Silvio (Cantillana) are two small town brothers who move to the big city after the death of their mother. When Silvio takes Victor to a strip club to celebrate his 17th birthday, both brothers are captivated by whipped cream act stripper Graciella (Antonella Rios), who happens to be the girlfriend of local mobster Don Pascual (Alejandro Trejo). After intervening in a brawl in the club, Silvio is hired by Pascual and given work as a henchman. He is then seduced by Graciella and begins an affair with her, unaware that his younger brother Victor is seeing her too. But is Graciella a scheming femme fatale or a desperate victim?

I really wish I could give you a raving revue of this picture, which I have been looking forward to watching for some time, but I can't. I have yet to watch the movie. I ordered the picture with Alchemy Shop on the 6th of September. It was indicated to be in stock. A couple of days later the order was indicated to await shipping and then nothing for 3 weeks. I then emailed Alchemy Shop for an update and for another week: NADA. I have to admit at this point I had lost both my patience and my cool. My next email to Alchemy Shop canceling my order was rather blunt.Up until this point Alchemy Shop enjoyed a perfect rating and at least on paper they still do, but I promise you I will NOT be shopping with them ever again. As for Amazon their record has also been tainted with me. I think it is important for Amazon to enforce strict rules of conduct with their partners, which I don't think they have in this case. Fortunately for Amazon I had already made several purchases with Amazon and one bad experience is not enough to turn me of. Two however is another matter.....
