Size:1-(Pack) This set uses a one piece, 'self backing' grommet: when you crimp the grommet, the barrel is rounded-over to create the backing - no separate backing piece needed. This makes it easy to attach 1/4" grommets (small grommets are sometimes referred to as eyelets) to a wide variety of materials - outdoor canvas or vinyl covers, nylon or leather purses & luggage and more. Barrel length 3/16". Additional grommets available separately. Excellent quality - made in Taiwan.

Don't buy these!
These pliers are awful. Firstly, the grommets that come with it are eyelets only... no washers. That's my bad for not noticing/being a noob, but it still makes NO sense. What would you use these on that you wouldn't need the washers? But I digress. Secondly, something is wrong with the pliers because they only crimp one half of the eyelet. I wish I hadn't waited 3 months to take these out of the package and try them, I would have sent them back for a refund in a heartbeat. In short, DON'T BUY THESE. They aren't so much of a good deal that the shoddiness is excusable. Just pay an extra $10 and get good pliers, eyelets, AND washers.

These would be considered "light duty" at best. After two crimps of the grommets that came ...
This set of pliers was not the size I needed for the 1/4 gommets I had. There seems to be a difference between some grommets where one size is 1/4" inner diameter, and another is 1/4" outer diameter. These pliers are for grommets with a 1/4" inner diameter hole, thus requiring a larger hole to insert them through, and also having a larger flange. The size I needed was for the 1/4" outer diameter hole, which means a smaller flange. Using these pliers on the smaller flange caused crushing and uneven spread. That is NOT why I gave them 2 stars, however. These would be considered "light duty" at best. After two crimps of the grommets that came with the pliers (the ones intended for use by them) the handles bent and came together in my grip. The steel used for the anvil and setter is strong and durable. However, whatever metal is used for the rest of the tool is soft and malleable. It will not hold up to constant use. That is why I gave it 2 stars.

Sis, not this one.
No friends, these are seriously bad. I was in a pinch and needed to finish a project but lost my pliers. I purchased these ones and prayed for the best. I must have been extra bad as when i took my package to my sewing room to finish a garment and open my package I found the pliers had been partially opened. I am desperate and everything seemed to be there so I didn't worry about it. I find no instructions but that is fine as I have used such equipment before. I begin my first eyelet and mega fail. I then take a scrap material and try a few more techniques. None work. I find that only one side of the eyelet bends back while the other is straight out still. The pliers just don't work and I can't use this for a garment as it will scratch people. Waste of money. Waste of time.

Bad design
I was planning on using this to create outdoor curtains from a thin sheet. It could barely get through the sheet. I had to have my husband squeeze it as I didn’t have the hand strength (I am a healthy 40 something woman). It seemed like we got all one side pieces. I think there should have been different pieces that went on the other side. It was very confusing. The grommets didn’t hold well. Many came out. It was returned.

Good tool & eyelets
This tool & eyelets worked very well for my project, which was pretty challenging; canvas with padded fabric behind. The key was getting the fabric trimmed away enough to fit the eyelet's neck all the way through before crimping - If it's only partially through and you expect to punch it the rest of the way with the pliers, it tends to crunch the eyelet instead. The pliers were easy to use and plenty strong for the job, much easier than my previous frustration with the anvil-type. It did help to gently crimp the eyelets from both sides just by flipping the tool around for each.

Worthless tool
This took does not work. I purchased it to put grommets in Christmas curtains made of satin for my church. It has only one side which does not hold good and they fall out almost as fast as I insert them. My husband tried putting them in thinking I wasn't strong enough. The handles bent. This tool is worthless.

good quality. My only beef is that the process ...
Exactly as pictured, good quality. My only beef is that the process of securing the eyelet to your project is a little hard on the hands and wrists with this tool specifically.

lots of grommets
The one star reviews are pretty accurate. The pliers are bad. However, I gave it 3 stars because there are a lot of grommets for a decent price.Personally, I used the pliers as more of a hole punch, since it did get the grommet though the paper I was working with. then I used actual pliers (not these) to bend down the backs so that these pliers could finish the job, The back is not attractive, but thankfully I do not need it to be.I am happy with the amount of grommets I received (Similar grommets at Walmart were $2.50 for 15). and they were the size I needed. I don't know if they are good quality for grommets, as I have never worked with them before, but I thought they were fine for working with paper. If I need to work with grommets again, though, I will buy a different set of pliers.
