Hero the Paintings of Robert Bissell

Superb. Robert Bissell is a superb artist and captures the innocence of his subjects, but also their power. There is a special quality in his work that is heart-warming and in a way mystical. A great value high quality book of the man's unique art. If you like Robert Bissell's work this book will be a delight.

I was unable to find out much about the contents of the book. The title indicates that it contains the paintings of Robert Bissell, but there is a narrative throughout, and I wondered if perhaps new illustrations had been prepared (which I didn't want). I was delighted to find that the book contains so many instantly recognisable and memorable pictures. Haven't looked at the narrative yet, but the images themselves make the book so very well worth buying.

I first saw one of Robert Bissell's paintings on a trip to Hawaii. Since then I have followed his work. The pictures in this book will not disappoint. There's also some thoughts as to what went into each painting. Truly a classic that I will look at again and again.

The format is excellent, allowing you to appreciate the wonderful and colourful paintings. If you own a print by Robert Bissell, chances are it's in this book. If you are even luckier and own a painting, there's a good chance it's in this book too.

Beautiful art for a coffee table and for someone who can’t afford the real deal. This book has so many great pieces of art inside

Hero is a lovely book for adults and children (read it to your young ones!). The paintings are beautiful and inspirational. I especially recommend this book to all the bear lovers out there. I gave this to a friend as a gift (but read it first!). Wonderful!!
