Nice, but it is not quite what I expected!
It worked okay, the first time I used it, but the design was not as deep as I thought it looked online. I think a cookie recipe should be included, it would be easier to know if the design depth was affected by my recipe or the rolling pin. It was difficult to see the imprints on the two recipes I used. I used a short bread and spritz cookie recipe, both do not use any leavening and they both hold shapes nicely. But as I said, they did not look like the cookies as illustrated online. But, I will use them again and my daughters will as well.

Not worth it
I was disappointed in how the rolling pin worked. What would have been helpful would have been guidelines on the best way to prepare the surface. I floured it and used my traditional sugar cookie recipe and the dough still stuck to the rolling pins surface. As for the pattern on the roller, it is lovely to look at, but not easy to transfer to the dough. If you press too hard, dough gets stuck in the pattern; if you don't press hard enough, then the pattern is so faint, it disappears during the baking process as the dough puffs up.

Great stocking stuffer gift!
I got this cute rolling pin for my mother-in-law, who makes Christmas cookies every year. The design goes evenly around the rolling pin and seems to be engraved pretty deeply. I tried to get a good picture to show the depth. I'm assuming you would have to use dough that doesn't flatten to get a good print. The little cookie cutters that come with it are small but would work fine if you don't have any other cutters. I'll update with a picture of the cookies once my MIL bakes some. It would make a great stocking stuffer for a person that seems to have everything or that you can never figure out what to get them. I plan to grab one for myself and dust off the seldom used KitchenAid!

Disappointing
The design is so shallow! It didn't work at all with a sturdy gingerbread dough, so I tried it with shortbread (no leavening in the dough) but I had to really strain to see the tiny design. I'd return it, but I may be able to use it with fondant, and I really like the cookie cutters. It'll probably just become a Christmas decoration in my kitchen.

It was clogged with a dough like substance
When I received this rolling pin it looked like it had been used. The design was clogged with a dough like substance. Very frustrating. It took awhile to clean the design.

Don’t use store bought box cookie dough
The rolling pin is very easy to use and clean, but when I tried to use it with “box cookie dough “ the embossed pattern melted away and was completely invisible. Not the rolling pins fault, most likely user error lol.

Fun holiday rolling pin.
The cookie dough has a bit of a tendency to stick to the roller. I found that chilling the dough first, helps. I also sprinkled a very light layer of powdered sugar on the dough, which also helped.

Cute
I give this a an overall 4 since the impressions disappeared as cookies baked. I would expect it only works good with specific dough densities. I am an experienced banker, no use issues.
