Good for what it is intended for

Instructions are unclear - they say to paint the artwork first, let it dry, then paint with acrylics. Maybe I didn't get it. What worked really well is using it with the acrylic paint mixes on the pallette. It does make the paint more transparent as stated; extends drying time, too. I have used the Golden Retarder, but this works better, and you don't have to be concerned with using so much that your paint won't ever dry. I plan to use this whenever I paint with acrylics.

Does exactly what it needs to do

No surprise - another exceptional product from Golden. For those who are renderers - do fine blending - this is a must have, for when you want more time to do more subtle rendering.

Game changer for acrylics!! I love being able to blend right on the canvas. With a bit of this mixed in, thin coats don’t dry instantly and I can build up color in layers. Depending how much you mix in and how thick you paint, I’d estimate it keeps the paint wet for an additional 2-15 minutes once on the canvas? Also, it makes the paint last even longer in my stay wet palette box, sometimes over a week being just as liquid as when I first mixed it. I’m never using acrylics without this again. I use golden brand acrylics, idk how it does with other brands.
