Wiss WS4 3-Inch Offset Handle - HVAC Hand Seamer

If you want a crude hand seamer that might hold up for a while, this is the tool for the job.If you want a tool that will make precise and clean bends, then spend a little more and get a quality tool.All the bolted joints were somewhat loose and required tightening before use, and the jaws don't align on the front edge or the ends or close parallel to each other until the final squeeze. The head casting is of mediocre quality and mine required some filing at the front edge.I have relied on Wiss tools for decades, but the quality of this tool leaves much to be desired. I would have returned it except that I needed it for a job on the day it arrived.

These made my metal roofing job much easier. I started with the Malco 6" seamers and they were too wide to handle the 24 gauge metal. With these 3" ones I was able to bend much easier and the offset was very helpful in making the box ends and drip edges. These are the ones to get if working with heavier gauge roofing metal.

Have several other Wiss branded tools stored in same location (air conditioned garage) as this item and this item started rusting within 24 hours of use. Wonder if they changed quality of steel? Latch also was a problem. Really surprised. Wiss has been a good brand for many years for me.

These are kind of sloppy, but work good enough for most DIY projects.

Works well as designed, the locking latch is off so it is a hassle to close and close the latch to put it back in the tool box for storage, I kept it as I needed the tool and did not want to lose time.

Worked good. A choice of a 90deg would be even better, but this one works like it should.
