Vomit, diarrhea and maggots
Update: I decided to give another try to purchasing this item through Amazon since my cats prefer this food over others and Amazon has it so much cheaper. But this time I used Prime shipping rather than subscribe and save hoping for better quality. The experience was WORSE! I opened my box to discover one of the packages had exploded and one half of the box was covered in dried, dead maggots. Yes, this item may be cheaper through Amazon, but you get what you pay for. In my case, that was a box full of maggots and a refund.--------------------Original review: I'm not sure if I just got a bad couple of batches or if this is a problem with the distributor Amazon uses for their subscribe and save program, but with the last two shipments my cats have been throwing up the whole meal within a few hours of eating and have very watery diarrhea after. The vomit has also made it clear that a significant amount of coloring is added to this product because it heavily stains my carpet.

Not equal to a can of cat food!
I normally feed my cat one 5.5 oz can per day Avoderm wet cat food (1/2 morning 1/2 evening). But when we ran out of our Avoderm, my husband bought this Iams instead. The Iams packaging seemed much more convenient since it’s already divided into two separate portions. Well my cat was meowing and meowing and wouldn’t stop, which I took to mean she loved the Iams and wanted more. But today (after about a week of serving the Iams), we got our shipment of Avoderm, so I compared nutrition info and discovered that one can of our regular Avoderm is equal to 4-5 portions of Iams (both by serving suggestion AND calories). So basically you have to give your cat 2 - 2 1/2 packages of Iams to equal one regular 5.5 oz package of catfood. This makes this Iams more hassle and more expensive than my healthier Avoderm. I just want people to know in case they’re cat seems to be asking for more — it’s probably just very hungry!

WARNING!!! Something is terribly wrong with latest batch!
We have been buying this cat food in the salmon pate for many months. Our cat loves it. BUT this latest case has something horribly wrong with it. I noticed the cat only nibbled at it and I tossed out what she didn't eat and gave her a fresh plate. It sat for about an hour uneaten and suddenly she threw up! I happened to glance over at the food plate and noticed this bright red goo on her plate. No idea what it is but it appeared after the food sat about an hour. This has never happened before. Sometimes it takes her a couple of hours to nibble at her food and never have I seen this red goo appear. Needless to say, this case will go in the garbage. Hopefully she's not going to get horribly sick from it! Anyway, if you have received this cat food in the last month, maybe would be a good idea to let it sit for about an hour before feeding to your cat to see if it develops this weird red goo. I have attached photos of the food with the strange red goo and a photo of the date code for reference. Hopefully will get a refund! But the cat is definitely NOT going to be served this food.

Cats love it, be prepared for a splatter when opening
Our cats have been eating this for a couple years at the advice of our vet to help them lose weight. They have lost a significant amount of weight and they love this food. The only complaint we all have about it is it’s difficult to open without getting your fingers all up in the stinky food, sometimes splatter sauce up your face if you pull at the wrong speed or angle... especially if you’re prone to feeding the kitties before the coffee hour. The cats seems to enjoy the entertainment though.

Cats love it but my hands, not so much
I want to give this a 4.5. 5 for the way our cats love it. 4 for the mess. Our cats are 11 now and have pretty much only eaten Iams grain-free chicken cat food their entire lives. They dislike other Iams flavors and all other brands. So it's no surprise that our cats love these packets. They always finish the food and seem satisfied. No sitting around crying for more. What I'm not so crazy about is that I always have problems opening the packs without getting a glop of stuff on something: my hands, the floor, the wall, our cats. The first ingredient is chicken broth so the food is very moist. I've tried to open it with my right hand, left hand, pulling towards me and away, doing it very very slowly and some liquid always burps out. I'm always going to wash my hands after feeding the cats anyway but you know, it's just sorta gross. Also if my hands are even slightly wet it's nearly impossible for me to pull these open. That said, the cats love it and that's really all that matters.

Contains Meat By-Poducts
I thought this was roughly the same as Iams Purrfect Delights in the can, which Iams discontinued. My cats liked that and I liked that it didn't contain meat by-products. I didn't notice before ordering that Iams Pefect Portions have meat by-products as an ingredient. I was surprised because I thought Iams was a higher quality pet food. If I wanted to buy cat food with garbage ingredients I'd buy something much cheaper like Friskies. I'm not buying Iams again. From now on I'm buying Meow Mix Simple Servings single serve cups. They're less expensive than Iams overall even though they come in tiny portions and they have better ingredients than Iams - they don't have meat by-poducts. And my cats like Meow Mix Simple Servings better than Iams anyway.

The ONLY wet food ours will eat!
Picky little princess will ONLY eat Iams Chicken Pate for a wet food. The Dual tray feeding containers keep everything fresh so there is little to no waste and that is always a big plus. We've been through hundreds of $$$ on fancy wet foods that our cat won't touch so give this a try if you have a finicky feline too and you may have found your match. Balance it out with a good dry kibble such as Orijen and you'll spend less on vet bills and have a healthy happy cat :D

My cats love this food.
I recently switched my one-year-old kittens off another store-brand soft food to this one as it is more widely available at local stores and super easy to order off Amazon. The 24 packs are very good value, and arrive well packaged and undamaged. While I haven't tasted the food myself, the cats recognize the package and come running. This is a grain-free product, which are currently the trending recommendation for cats. I've thought about trying raw diets et cetera, but as a veterinarian once told me, there is nothing wrong with feeding your pets recognized brands with lower price points, there are millions of pets who've eaten that food before and thrived. As for nutritional value, watch the portion size. The IAMS website recommends 2 2/3 servings per 5 pounds of body weight daily, meaning my 8 pound cats would be eating 2 or more full things of this (both portions) per day, which seems very excessive. I'm feeding one portion am and pm with supplementation of a high quality kibble.

Cats think it’s ok but calories are lower than usual food
Cats like it (I mean they eat it) but the portions and corresponding calories are tiny compared to a normal size can of cat food. My cat who only eats wet food normally eats prescription food but I switch it out every now and then due to the cost. Be aware that if your cat solely eats wet food, this is NOT the same size or caloric equivalent as half a norma 5.5oz tin. My cat kept asking (in his own cat way) for more. I knew the sizes were tiny it didn’t realize the caloric intake is actually less overall than his normal prescription food. Given how much he has eaten, it ends up being nearly as much per day as his prescription food. Tonight I gave him half a ton of prescription food and he devoured it in a way I have never seen. That is what prompted me to check the calories on the IAMS food so just beware. It ends up being a lot of plastic thrown away too...

Leaking Package, Changed Recipe & Cat Won't Eat It Anymore
my cat used to LOVE LOVE LOVE IAMs Indoor Salmon Pate. i had to hide these, as she would claw them open or poke holes in the packaging, because she wanted it so often.too bad, i suspect the recipe has changed. now she'll give the IAMs a few sniffs and licks, but that's it.to compound issues: the box the trays came in was intact, with no signs of damage. but several containers within one 12-pack tray were clearly leaking and stained. as shown in the photos, they appeared bloated or over-filled. the non-damaged containers in the other tray were fine, but alas, for Salmon Pate it appears i'll have to go with another brand.

My cats hate this. They won't eat it.
My two cats hate this food, and I don't want to send it back as I have used a number of the packages, and I know that Amazon will just throw out this cat food, and it would be a waste. The raccoon outside should like it fine

Picky cats eat this consistently!
My cats consistantly love tgus and they are picky eaters. The portions are good and the tops are easy to pull off, not like Whiskas, which must use Gorilla glue around the rims.Thanks. Keep up the good work.
