Expensive but well made and useful
This unit provides a lot of functionality. I used the air compressor today for the first time and it's great that it shuts off automatically when the desired pressure is reached. I didn't have my pressure gauge handy so I couldn't double check the accuracy of it = all 4 of my tires were significantly low which I found hard to believe, but it IS possible. Certainly no problem jump starting a vehicle. The only odd thing I found is that the battery is meant to be replaceable but there is a sticker on the box that says opening it voids the warranty. Although I would think there would be no need to replace the battery during the warranty period anyway. This replaced an old Black and Decker jump box/compressor I had that I was in love with and that one lasted me ten years. I hope this one lasts close to that!

Useless compressor. Painful, unresponsive return process.
I figured the heavier duty specs of the Farm & Ranch model would give me years of service for my light-duty needs. After 3 months of topping off 6 or 8 light truck and trailer tires the compressor stopped working correctly. It would only raise tire pressure 1-2 psi in 3-4 minutes then shut down due to the overheat protect. (In a 50 deg. F garage). Once it cooled down it would put 1 more psi in the tire and shut down again. It would take 4-5 cycles like this to put 4-5 psi in a tire.I contacted Schumacher support and they were not very helpful, IMO. The first agent, after talking to a supervisor, suggested I should jack up my light truck to raise each tire I wanted to air up off the ground to reduce weight/pressure on the tire! I couldn't believe he was serious. We finally reasoned that the compressor/hose had probably developed a leak so it couldn't deliver enough pressure to fill up a tire before overheating. They agreed to do a replacement. It took 2 more calls to finally get instructions on how to do a return, then 2 emails to figure out how to submit the required photos on the 365.returnsportal.net website. By the way, I left 3 voicemails with Schumacher support and never got a call back. Wait times to talk to someone were 10-20 minutes. For a warranty return, I had to ship the unit back by UPS at my cost for $50.31. 18 days after my return unit arrived at their depot in Brownsville, TX, I finally got the replacement unit. There is no tracking info offered unless you call to ask for a status. It is not available on the 365.returnsportal.net website. I have to give credit to Kishma who helped me with the RMA information. I wish I had been lucky enough to talk to her first.I'm giving this detail in hopes it is helpful for Schumacher in improving their customer service.Bottom line: The support/returns system at Schumacher is painfully inefficient and frustrating. It did finally deliver in the end, but it required way too much of my time & money. If I had not been persistent, I would never have received the replacement. My trust in Schumacher reliability and support is very low at this point.UPDATE: I tried the replacement Farm & Ranch Portable Power FR01337 once. I needed to raise the pressure in my tire 6 psi. The compressor overheated, shut down and produced smoke after adding 3 psi which took about 6 minutes in 30 deg. F weather. Compressor is COMPLETELY USELESS. I won't bother with a return because it's not worth my time dealing with them.

Replacing a worn out schumacher
If this one lasts 15 years like the last one i will be happy. Been using it a few months now. By the way the old one is still working for jumping n tire inflation just not the plug ins!!!!!

Does the job of more expensive jump starters
Why buy a Noco for a hefty price in the hundreds. This is big, yeah, but saved me a ton of money and also puts out 120 volts house current with the built-in inverter. I love the USB charger/power outlets also. The battery inside IS replaceable also!

So far so good
I have not used item much. Air pump works great. Trying not to leave battery in super cold temps this winter (below 32) Hopefully it will last longer. Extra Charging ports come in handy on long trips
