Its much faster than my previous wd blue hdd, Windows 10 clean installation took 20 minutes only. Working smoothly so far. Validated its 5-years warranty.Only little dissapointing area was its Packaging when it arrived to me.

advertising 7200 rpm but it is of 5600 rpm

I recently had a HDD failure on my Dell XPS laptop. The laptop was bought in 2010, and the HDD had around 48,000 hours of run time. When I opened it to replace, I found this WD BLACK 500gb HDD. I replaced with SSD (SATA 2). I must say i am very impressed with this WD HDD. The HDD still works, and can be used for storage, but the boot sector failed.(which failed to start the laptop, hnce had to replace.)

J'ai attendu un temps avant d’écrire un commentaire pour voir sa durée dans le temps.Disque dur HS a peine 3 mois après son utilisation, disque dur plus reconnu du jour au lendemain par mon pc portable. Connecter sur ma tour est après avoir lancé un diag " plusieurs segments d'enregistrement de fichier sont illisible" et le disque dur est très chaud. Je peu pas vous déconseillé ou conseillé ce produit, je pense que comme toutes marques il faut tombé sur une bonne série.

Used drive with information and NO warranty from MFG Western Digital...Getting tired of these drives sold as new with warranty when that is NOT the case.-On this drive they didn't even bother in wiping it out. It has 2 partitions with files dated back to 2011.-According to Western Digital after I gave them this serial number: "Western Digital does not provide Warranty Service for OEM Products. Please contact your distributor or place of purchase."-According to Crystal Disk Info the Drive has 4 hours of usage and that it has Powered on 21 times. That is actually very good for a barely USED hard drive, but I have had it for less than an hour connected to test it and only powered on once. So it is slightly used.This is Clearly a previously barely used drive but not NEW and has NO WARRANTY FROM WD.I will keep the drive since it is for a project that cannot wait for replacement that will be a Drive in same or worst condition.

Unbelievably after loading about 100GB of data on the drive, using it to edit and export maybe 10 photos in Lightroom, only for this thing to CRASH. I had three partitions set up, two of the volumes died for some odd reason. Windows, Linux, UBCD, nothing helped. When I started trying to diagnose the drive it was noted there is already a bad sector. I'm going to scrub the drive, repartition it for my needs, and give it another try. If I have more problems its going back as a defective product. ...I really just can't believe this is from a WD product. I've had a dog walk by and trip over an external hard drive cord before. That hard drive (8 yrs ago) crashed to the carpet, and it was dead. I lost every photo I had digitized from my childhood, teenage and early adult years. Believe me, I know how to handle these things (gently and preferably never while they're powered on). End of rant.I purchased this through seller OEMGenuine- they do offer a 5 year warranty through themselves (according to the sticker they put on the drive itself). I'm noting this just in case someone else has issues.
