Works wonderfully! Smells like smoke however…
I have been using a pine tar soap which smells amazing, like a pine Forrest, so wondered why everyone had issues with the smell of this shampoo?I’ve had an itchy scalp recently, so went looking for a good shampoo to help. I have to say in this regard, it worked miracles. After using once my scalp was noticeably better, after a few more uses (over the course of a week) my itchiness was gone and has not returned. Now for the elephant in the room, the smell. It smells like smoke to my mind, not the pine tar scent I had previously experienced from other products. Is it pleasant, not really, I smell like I’ve been burning wood and not in a good way. That said, it is easy to deal with by means of deodorant and aftershave.I bought it for it’s scalp soothing properties and in that it excelled, so for me it’s a clear 5 stars.

Works really well
Been suffering from dry patchy, flakey skin and sometimes abit painfully sore. But this stuff cleared it mainly up the only downside is that you come out the shower stinking like you just been sitting next to a bonfire.

This works
First up let’s address the smell. This is a creosote based shampoo. They come in two varieties - coal tar and wood tar. Both smell of something that has been burned - because that’s exactly what the active ingredient is.I don’t care about this - in fact I like the smell. Even if I hated it, I would prefer it to problem dandruff, which eventually becomes itchy and painful.Creosote based shampoos work by reducing cell turnover rate. They calm your scalp down. They are also great at degreasing thick hair.Use this first, then “condition” with a ketoconazole shampoo like Nizoral afterward. You will never have to worry about dandruff again and your chances of hair loss are reduced considerably. I’ve combined creosote shampoos with nizoral since 1997, and still have a thicker head of hair at 38 than most 20-somethings.I have used coal tar based shampoos (Poly tar, alphosyl, t gel) for decades. This stuff works just as well, while being cheaper. Unlike t Gel it won’t mostly be wasted due to coming out in unmanageably large globs from the bottle.

Great product
After using the shampoo for a few months now. My hair feels great and it's alot stronger and less brittle, I used to get spots on my scalp and this shampoo is helping deal with that problem, it does have a nice smokey scent which you do get used. I'm on my 3rd bottle so far.

Not bad.
Seems ok so far, but quite a distinct smell. Not a great one to be fair. But seems to help with itchy scalp

Smells horrible
I can't get past the smell. It's like tree sapp and bonfire. No amount of conditioner dulls the smell. Cannot use it anymore.
