Corel Painter 11 OLD VERSION

I haven't really had a chance to make a document yet, but I have ordered a book, and I will be using it a lot.There is a brush or a crayon, or a charcoal for every purpose. I have tested all kinds of combinations with colors, textures, brushes, etc. They are AMAZING!The tools are easy to use. As a Photoshop user there was a learning curve, but then I found there were a lot of commonalities.This program is made to work hand-in-hand with such programs as Photoshop. Corel even says so on it's site.Painter is quite powerful; yet, even though it is no substitute for Photoshop it is way less expensive. Corel customer service is good too.My only complaint is that it is prompting me for updates, and I keep installing, but it is definitely not as easy as Adobe.I am so impressed by Painter and other Corel products that I am purchasing a Wacom tablet. A small version of the latest model.I know I made a great decision to purchase Painter 11.

I’ve written this review a few times and it keeps disappearing.I installed this on a weak laptop that did meet all of the minimum specs.The laptop crashed every time it opened. So I attempted to hunt for updates and assistance, however until I removed it from my device, my laptop was inoperable.So, although I can’t comment on the actual program, I would highly suggest utilizing a computer that is well above the minimum specs.

First of all, Painter 11 was delivered three days after I ordered it. Second, I got it brand new for $178. The delivery of the product was flawless. I've had to downgrade Painter 11 because the Auto-Painting feature doesn't work like it should. Unlike Painter 4 Essentials, Painter 11's version of Auto-Painting never finishes and it freezes and crashes after I hit the "Stop" button. This is a huge disappointment to me because the Auto-Painting function is one of the prime reasons I bought this software. By contrast, I never ran into any problems with Painter 4's version; it was smooth as silk. Yes, Painter 11 has more brushes and features but the presentation and layout is dull and uninspired when compared with Painter 4 Essentials. In fact, I recently read an online review which said Painter Lite (Painter 4's successor) doesn't even have the Auto-Painting function, even though it's supposed to be a truncated version of Painter 12. I've finally decided to order a Virtuoso T5000 Kanvus pad & stylus which includes a copy of Painter 4 Essentials. I highly recommend Painter 4 Essentials because it handles like a dream and is totally "on point"; Painter 11, sadly, is a major disappointment. Long story short: Anyone seriously interested in digital painting who wants a great product for a reasonable price should buy a copy of Painter 4 Essentials and avoid Painter 11 and Painter Lite like the plague.

I just ordered two books from Amazon.com to obtain help in using Corel Painter 11. It appears to be a powerful painting program, but it has minimal instructions. Corel does not provide any help to support this product, (at least I could not find any on their site). I have reviewed the update which is, "Corel Painter 12", and their doesn't seem to be any improvements to justify upgrading. There are a lot of negative reports about Painter 11, but there are just as many raves about how wonderful it is. I reserve judgement until I get a good tutorial for it. I didn't pay very much for it so I don't feel that I have lost anything. I have been very disappointed with Corel as far as product support goes. I own quite a few Corel products, and I am left with figuring out how to use them. I plan on using Painter 11 for some very detailed digital painting; hopefully it will work out okay.

I purchased this item from J & S Games LLC, through Amazon. I rate J & S Games with 5+ stars, would give them 10 if allowed to. I'm giving Painter 11 4 stars because their instruction book is nearly useless. This is a huge complex program, with many tricks, hidden tools, and almost limitless possibilities. Corel's booklet, sent with the CD, is a small, hand-sized 90-page item. I was amazed at this. However, the actual software is awesome, and does deserve 5 stars. I've ordered two full-sized books on Painter 11 since buying the CD, and one day hope to be proficient in this marvelous program. If you like creating digital art, you'll love this software!! Just be prepared to purchase additional instruction books.

Corel Painter 11 (old version) is spot on for what I was looking for. I have an older Powermac G5 and was hoping to get the latest version of Painter that would run well on my system. This fit the need perfect. I was using PhotoShop to digitally paint artwork and was ok with the results even though it was inefficient and tasking, but am now way happier with the results and ease of use Painter has placed at my hands. I strongly recommend it to anyone looking for a digital painting or freehand style drawing program that is responsive and adaptive with high quality features, but can't use or afford the newest version. Amazon gave me the best price and information I needed to make the most logical and cost effective choice when I did my research. Thanks Amazon and thanks Corel for keeping older versions of products available as well as the newest.
