Can the auto power off be disabled? I'm tired of pushing the power button when it goes to sleep. I tried the nircmd.exe trick, but it did not work.

There is a semi-official fix to the auto-off feature. See this link: https://insider.razer.com/index.php?threads/razer-leviathan-auto-power-off-firmware-fix.21208/ if you follow the directions it will update the firmware and the Leviathan will no longer turn its self off.

Does it automatically "wake up" when it receives an audio signal? does it retain volume settings? i plan on mounting this to a wall behind monitors.

No, it does not automatically wake up, you must push the "On" button. Yes, it will retain the volume settings. You will need to have access to the top of the speaker for the on/off button. Then behind the on/off button, you will have your options buttons (like bluetooth, mode, volume, etc.) and you will need to have access to these buttons as well.

Does it work well for movies and tv? is the sound good? I want it for my 42" tv, mostly to watch a movie and for the ps3 games. Thanks.

Consider the distance! I'd say it will work well up to 8 feet away. Keep in mind this Razer unit does not have a remote. I used it for my PC rig, works the best out of many sounds systems I've tested, but that's about two feet away from me. It says it replicates a 5.1 surround, but it doesn't beat the real thing in my other room.
