Initially I was looking for a cracker for hazelnuts. But this cracker is little too big for the small hazelnut. It works much better on walnut and almonds. It is well design and well made, looks quite solid. And it does the job with minimal fuss, much better than the one we had before, which was thin and wiry, nice to look at but at any minute you are worried which one is going to crack first, a nut or the cracker.

Nice nutcrackers only tried almonds and hazlenuts but would imagine fine for walnuts and brazils. Nice to hold and feels more substantial then the free ones I got with the nuts I bought from the supermarket.

This product is amazing.They make it very easy to break nuts in a controlled way, so you can avoid injuries, flying shell fragments and cracked nuts.I'm excited about them and will now buy more nuts in the shell and think I'll send them as fillers to other family members who like to eat fresh nuts next Christmas.

I've never tried them for crabs etc., only nuts. They are good for walnuts; but beware of using them for almonds or hard hazelnuts. they can and will nip your hands, leaving blisters!

I was looking for a decent priced nutcracker as my current one was not working very well. This nut cracker was easy to use and hold so it did not fal or slip from my hands. Also, they are of very high quality because it is extremely durable and so amazing for the price it comes at.

I think these were designed for large male hands. I had to exert an enormous amount of energy to crack crab claw shells - and when finally they cracked, my fingers [naturally curled during this operation] got painfully caught, each time, in the nutcracker - and any remedial action I attempted, had no effect. These nutcrackers are clunky - and rattle upon being handled, as the linking pin at the top does not provide a tight fit. My previous nutcrackers, after many years of occasional use, came apart, just days ago, as a result of corrosion - a repeat scenario of which I wanted to avoid. But these are a very inferior replacement. The only place you can crack the thin crab legs is in the small indentation underneath the 2 larger openings. From the outset, it bothered me that the larger of the openings sat at the top rather than the bottom - but the reviews were so glowing that I thought I'd go ahead and buy anyway. Big mistake !! If you value QUALITY, and have known quality in your lifetime, I suggest you stay well clear of these.This review relates to crustacean use, but I would not expect the drawbacks to be mitigated or altered when the nutcrackers are applied to nuts.

This item arrived on time and is as described, My previous nutcracker broke and I needed a new one. This one is very good quality and easy to use. I would highly recommend this item, well worth the price.

Looks good and “picks” are great for wheedling out bits of broken nut but leverage really poor and hole size for smaller nuts not great. Far too difficult to use - in fact quite painful - for me compared to the cheap nutcracker we always have used (but now lost) in the past.
