This is a great paring knife; the curved blade really makes a difference when cutting and holding something in hand.

I don't have a lot of hand strength due to arthritis, and I do a lot of peeling of fruits and vegetables for canning. Since my first use of this knife, I found the size, shape, and sharpness a great help to me, but I had to be very careful not to nick my thumb with the blade while peeling because I wasn't accustomed to using such good sharp cutlery. I solved that little issue by ordering "finger cots" from Amazon. They stretch and just slip over my thumb for protection. Very safe and comfortable (Finger Cots Fingertip Caps Anti-Cut Resistant Protector Thumb Chefs Safety Reusable) I highly recommend the ZWILLING J.A. Henckels bird beak peeling knife, and I intend to take very good care of it.

Accidently lost my knife I purchased in Austria 13 years ago while freezing our fruit last summer. I loved this knife and was happy to find on Amazon to replace it! LOVE IT!

Best thing about this knife is how thinly you can slice things, how finely it cuts and peels. Great for detail work. Great control, good weight, comfortable to hold at different angles. Maybe not great for speed, but the best for accuracy, detail, and control.

Lees than 1/2 price of the best brand and still excellent. Blade is a bit thinner but does the job very well. I would not be without a birds beak for small fruit and veggies trimming. Small and controllable. Small tip for accurate removal of stems from fruit. Cuts curves easily such as skin removal.

We have the whole set and had lost this knife so we replaced it. The knife is super sharp and exactly the same as the one we lost. We have had this set for 14 years and it’s still going strong. I highly recommend!

It is excellent for peeling fruits and veggies, it is such a useful knife. I love mangoes and always use this knife to peel them, it does a fabulous job.
