If you want to purchase these to admire, then these are for you.
These are a solid one piece set. That's what I was looking for. The finish is black. But upon opening the box it appears to be a a silver finish. I haven't used them yet as I just got them. But first impression is that I am pleased with my purchase. 5/21/19 Update: One of my forks Lost all it's Black. These have never been in a dishwasher. I only get to cook once or twice a week. So have been used less than average. I hand wash my dishes with Dawn. And immediately dry with a Terry cloth towel. So they are not wet long. Quality is not up to par in my opinion. If you want to purchase these to admire, then probably be good for that. But actual use will result in a major disappointment.

SIX MONTHS LATER
In the beginning, I loved this silverware set. But after six months of use, I am sad to say "please save your money and look elsewhere!" Yes, look elsewhere unless you like half black half silver eating utensils. After six months of normal use and washings, the black coating has started to wear away completely along the business ends from most of these utensils. Guess I will have to look elsewhere for a replacement.

Not matte
Scratched very easily. NOT dishwasher safe. Also, shiny not matte at all.

If I wanted silver, I would have bought that!
When I first opened the box, I was very impressed by the weight of the utensils and the color was really nice. After a couple uses, the color starts to come off, leaving silver patches and streaks on the black silverware. The utensils never come out of the dishwasher without spots. Also, after closer inspection, the times of the forks are not finished This makes food stick to the times in between them and they are very hard to clean. I would not recommend purchasing these at all!

Awful. Junk in five months
If I could give this an F minus rating I would. Finish comes off!! Have I ate this? Not dishwasher safe. Not safe to use. First they got spotty. Then the coating came off. What complete unwarranted junk. Spend extra money and read reviews. I got hosed

Crappy
I bought these for my daughter. She just got her masters and has her first home. Then I give her the silverware that couldn't even be put in water. The black came off. I was so embarrassed. Would you replace them with some that are a better product. Thanks.

Nice for price
At first I wasn't keen on how shiny the set was. I had been looking for something a bit more matte finish, but I'm really happy with them now! The large spoons are basically serving spoon sized fyi.

Not good for everyday use
Put these on our wedding registry, and was so excited to start using them. They were fine at first (besides the big spoons being a bit too big) but after using them daily for about 3 months, the black finish began coming off. Of course by then, we couldnât return them or contact the shop. Great if youâre planning on using them occasionally to entertain - if you want to use them daily youâll end up with a bunch of scratched (and one rusty đł) silverware.
