Castlevania: Season 1 (DVD)

I don’t dislike anything about it. I love it. It’s a 10/10 a 5/5 series. Never expected Castlevania anime to be so godlike. I hope the game series gets a reboot or continuation.

It's visuals are very awesome, the story is excellent and very entertaining. Finished watching it 3 weeks ago.

I thought this was an anime from Japan for the longest time before I watched it, but it’s actually not. This show is amazing and has really great animation, storyline and themes. This show does a great job at getting you to understand and sympathize with the “antagonist”, and for me that’s the sign of great writing. My only complaint is that season 1 is so short, but it was done so well that it’s really not an issue. The price at least reflects the episode count, I think I got this for $10 or less on Amazon day. It’s right at 96 minutes in length. Season 1 sets it up for the long haul and does a lot of world building and setting the scene. For those who aren’t aware, this is actually an adaptation of an original video game; I never played the video games as it was before my time for the most part, but even still it’s entirely self contained and no prior knowledge is needed. I fell in love with this show and highly recommend it, along with season 2 & 3. Of course if you are familiar with the games, I’ve been told there are many hints and Easter eggs you’d notice, which makes me want to play them. If you’re not sure you’d like it, check it out on Netflix! Seriously though this show is amazing, and I loved the themes involving religion and family. This show deals with some heavy and dark themes, it’s suspenseful, action packed and very well written. While they’re absolutely nothing alike in storyline, themes or anything else, this show is comparable in quality to Avatar: The Last Air Bender as one of the best western animations. It includes a really gorgeous slipcover that’s holographic like, VIZ did a great job on the release. 10/10 all around

This is a great series. When I started watching it, I was a little surprised at how good it was. This first season really helps to set the pace for the rest of the series. The story is great and really keeps you wanting more. I was actually excited to see the next episode. Almost the same kind of excitement I had when watching Game of Thrones or The Witcher (the first and second seasons). This is definitely one of the better shows to come out, and well worth the pick up.

This show is exactly what I had been searching for thus far. It provides plenty of fighting scenes with beautiful combat choreography, in depth lore that’s fairly easy to put together, and attractive main characters all around! (Looking at you, Dracula)

If you are into Castlevania or gothic horror mythos you should like this a lot. Can be very violent so probably not for young kids.

Its got some good action. Its worth viewing, I have yet for season 2. Favorite part monster-" your all going to hel..bllah" monster gets batch slapped by a whip that splits monster in half. Didn't let the one finish the sentence. Also castle takes out three figures picking on an old man. while near the end they fight a large cyclops before entering a vampires resting place for a showdown. I'd rate it an 8.8 - 9.0

I absolutely LOVE this show. I'm literally happy to alive to see a good adaptation of one of my most beloved video game franchaises. I know many other fans disagree with how they have written some of the major characters but that's why we see character growth for a reason; They are becoming who we know them as in the games and more.I mean, we all know Belmonts are badasses with the heart of courage to help and protect the people from the things that bump in the night, but now we get to see them be more than just "the perfect hero" we get to see their flaws and harships that shape them, what makes them human and be the hero we know them to be.Anyway, these four episodes are with it, the animation is beautiful and the attention to detail is phenomial! They truly try to keep to the games! This is produced by fans who love the lore, games, characters just as much as us, it Especially shows in the second season! Can't wait for third season and second to come out on disc as well. Animation is coming back to life!
