Crane Fireplace Heater, 750W/1500W, Realistic Embers, 3 Settings, Ceramic Space Heater, Overheat Protection, Black (EE-8075BK)

These are gorgeous, kind of mid-century modern. I have six of these heaters for my cats. I have 2 Devon Rex cats who have little hair, and two sphynx cats who have no hair and they all absolutely love these heaters so I have them all over the house for them. I think it's the orange glow they love because they see it and know when it's on. I have other small heaters that don't light up orange and none of my cats ever sit in front of those for some reason.I started with a white one and that original one has a thermostat on it (which I prefer) so it may be different but even though the crane doesn't have a thermostat I still love it and kept buying them because... well the cats want them.They don't put out a lot of heat, enough to warm a small room, but I feel safe leaving them on and going into the other room (I'd never leave it on and leave the house though) and also the safety mechanism that shuts it off if it ever tipped over makes me feel safe too.I did have to send one back because when I initially took it out of the box and turned it on it was making a burning smell so I immediately unplugged it and returned it and the one that replaced it worked perfectly so six out of seven that I've had in my house work beautifully. Just inspect it when you get it, like any electric device. I got the first one a few years ago and in all the time I've been using all of them none of them have worked initially and later malfunctioned so at least if you get a bad one you should know right away and be able to get a replacement. I had no problem returning the defective one.So all in, I highly recommend these. Like I said, if you get one that doesn't work, just send it back and get another one because they are fantastic.A lot of friends that come over end up sitting next to one cus it's cozy, then because they are so cute they usually want to know where to get one, so they are also a conversation piece. I hope they keep making these for a long time (and bring back the white ones) because even if it died after a few years I would still happily buy another one.

I had to shut this off pretty quickly because it had a strange odor that smelled kind of like burning oil or melting plastic. There was no smoke to indicate anything was actually burning, but I turned the heat off right away because the odor seemed unhealthy. The cat and I did take some time to check out the flame lights (without heat) and realize why it looks pretty fake. In the back of the logs there is a part that must be painted. It's supposed to add to the effect of the flames. Since it's painted in smooth, fingerlike projections rather than with skinny/pointy, realistic flame-shaped projections, it makes the flame look fake. I think this part is hand-painted because I've seen photos and videos online where it seems to be different. I could be wrong, but that's how it seems to me. From 20' away, one might think this was an actual fireplace, but if you're close enough to feel the warmth of it, the flame looks obviously fake. I am sad because I thought that part would be realistic and it would be work doing an exchange rather than a return. I do also want to point out that the light can't be turned off while the heater is on, so this isn't a good overnight heater if you like a dark bedroom. It also has no thermostat so it will not help you save electricity by shutting off when the room is warm. I'm surprised they eliminated this feature. There is also a white sticker across the top of this unit which has important information and shouldn't be removed. It completely ruins the nice look of the exterior. At the very least, they could make this a black sticker with white print so it doesn't stick out so much. Since I think I just got a dud, I am giving 3 stars.

I bought this heater in the summer when it was 100 degrees outside, because the price dropped to less than half, which was a steal, being that this cute little heater is a workhorse and the fireplace looks real, People that come over and see it and go, "OH NO! How can you have a heater in this little bookshelf in a tiny trailer, without everything catching fire!!? That's DANGEROUS!!" Then I have to quickly tell them it's electric so they wouldn't have a heart attack!!! That is how real looking this little cutie is!! I love the sleek, black look as it blends in well with the brown wood of the bookcases lining the wall...the fireplace works without heat as well, so you can enjoy the fireplace without feeling like you're burning up....The fireplace looks so real, that a night when I'm sleeping It lights up the room, just like a real fire. Makes the ambiance really comforting and warm, even on the lowest setting, it stays very warm. One time it did shut off from it's heat, and then a few h ours it came back on again, but I think that was because I was trying to get a book from the book case and for a few seconds stood in front of it, so it shut off. Great feature to prevent fires! I cannnot think of any needed adjustments except to add a thermostat so it can keep running all the time and not have to manually shut it off, but that could easily be solved by adding a remote control device to it.....otherwise, genius invention, love it, and am so glad I found this at less than half off, otherwise it would still be sitting in my cart to this day. This heater looks amazing. The heating power leaves some to be desired considering the price. All the heat shoots of out the bottom of the unit on either low or high setting. For a heater, I wish there were more settings.I have a very cold office that has no heating in it so I bought this to keep my desk area warm. It has been in the 40s outside for some time so the office has stayed quite cool. I basically run this thing on high about a 1-2 feet away until I'm warm enough and then transition it to low. Putting it on low doesn't help much alone from the get go since it's light heat. IMO you want this thing close to you, don't count on putting it in a corner and expecting it to heat a room quickly.It looks so nice and it's easy to move and cool to the touch that I don't mind the price tag but if you want more heat vs a cool aesthetic I would look some place else.
