This gate is usable right out of the box. It's free standing and stable. It doesn't scratch hardwood floors. The accordion design is flexible - you can open at both ends. The gate is lightweight yet sturdy and looks good. Suitable for cats.

The amazon photo shows the door open for human to walk through. Both gates I received the doors open only for an animal to go in and out. Amazon did offer an exchange or refund. However, I already put them together before noticing. Amazon did give me 15% refund. I thought that was very nice offer after stating I’ll keep them. The positives are: The wood lovely, heavy. The size is 32” which is high for jack russell yo stay in place. The fence comes with 5 feet to keep it standing. I purchased another company and I had to buy extra feet. Maybe i received 2 defect doors. Too heavy to box up and drag to post office so I am very happy with my outcome. -easy to assemble, sturdy, strong and lovely wood & the discount allows me to find attachment to make a door. In the meantime we slide an end open.

I appreciate that the gate is not very bulky or heavy—it works great for deterring our very old Chihuahua! I would not recommend it at all for keeping out any pet who might try to push it over; it is definitely not able to withstand any weight put against it at all. But, it is actually cute and works well for any small, older dogs who wouldn’t attempt to break/push through it. It is incredibly easy to pick up and move to another location.

I own 3 of these. Keeps my puppies safe, out of forbidden areas and light weight. Easily to move but sturdy enough. Looks great. Not plastic eye sore.

This is a great gate. Our dogs are small, under 20 lbs, and elderly so they don't try to push on any gate; but it could be knocked over by a heavy or determined dog. This stands on its own, yet it's easy to move 1 panel if we need to get past it. It works perfectly for our dogs and I would definitely buy again.

Ordered March 16th- by July5th one panel has completely fell apart. It was a perfect fit for the space we needed, unfortunately it is just not well made. I would not recommend for everyday use.

This gate does what it's supposed to, and is attractive and affordable.

As an under $20 item, this would get 5 stars. It works, it looks nice out of the box. I don't expect it will hold up for a long time since its so light. I think it can be damaged easily and I think the paint will be chipping.For what I'm using it for, (to barricade my porch while outside with dogs) it serves its purpose. If you have dogs that jump on the gate, this is not going to work without securing it to something. My dogs are mannered in such a way that they Naturally stand back from it and don't even try to touch it. But for $40 I will replace it with some sturdier material when the time comes.

I have a small but clever 6 pound toy poodle mix and he never fails to escape into places around the house he should not be in. I bought this gate the first time for the top of the staircase, leading down to the front door and it has been extremely useful to keep him from running down the stairs. Recently my family got a new carpet and he loves to dig around and bite it so I purchased a second one. It's really helpful and it's the perfect size for him. However, it is a little short so if you're looking for a wide, long gate you should be careful when measuring. I measured the length and width of the areas I planned to use it in and it's extremely accurate. He is small and thankfully he does not try to fight the gate that much where he always escapes. However, if he was bigger he would probably knock it down. It's very lightweight and easy to carry around. Super happy with this gate.

This simple gate is very lightweight and quick to place. I would not use it at the top of the stairs because it is light, but to block access to a room, or at the bottom of the stairs it works very well.. I have purchased more, I like it so much
