Avon FM12 Tactical Respirator Gas Mask - EMS

Item came as pictured; actually looks newer than anticipated which was a huge plus; very clean. The fit was spot on, and it passed the seal test with flying colors which is great, but of course the real test is how it will perform when it is called on to perform its designated task. Overall, a very good deal, though as a caveat mine did not come with either a bag or filter as one reviewer mentioned he received (the former seems like it should have probably been included as the masks generally include them, and the latter would simply been a kind touch). Again, can't really attest to its performance under fire, but it does appear to be a genuine Avon product and worth the money. Will pick one up for my wife as well.***Update, 13 AUG 2017***Initially, the mask seemed to be fine, but upon performing another regular seal test evaluation, I noticed that when blocking the canister (open) port with the valve plug installed on the other port that there was in fact a trace amount of air that was allowed into the mask through said plug (not much, but enough so that there was not a full airtight seal); to me, this indicates that there is an issue with the plug's airtight integrity and therefore renders the mask defective. Not sure if anyone else has had this same issue (seller for me was HandAProduct), but I would like to hear if anyone else has had the same issue. Obviously being a "slightly used, like new" product, it is inevitable that there might be a few out there that are not completely up to standard, but it is something I thought needed to be addressed and mentioned to potential buyers so that they may be aware of the potential deficiencies of the product. Perhaps I am incorrect in my methods (anyone with superior knowledge, please remedy my statements if so), but I think I may be right in this matter based on the product design's essential mechanics.Certainly the matter of rectifying the port's airtightness should be a relatively easy fix, but it would be nice if the products were examined and tested properly before being posted for sale as what one might assume to be properly functional. Still, A good buy, just understand that some components may be worn or defective.***Update Two***The seller kindly responded to my request for a second port plug free of charge; this immediately solved my seal-integrity issues and the mask now works flawlessly. Definitely recommend, especially with this seller who will make issues right (based on my experience). Still wish it had its original pouch, but nothing to be done about that.

I’m extremely impressed with this respirator. It’s lightweight, easy to put on, and surprisingly comfortable (even for a gas mask). Mine was shipped by McGuire Army Navy (props to them), and it was delivered twice as fast as the rest of my order. It came with a plug for the unused canister port, a gasket for the side you choose to put the canister on (gaskets are required for proper functioning), the attached drinking tube, and (to my pleasant surprise) the original manual. It was stated as “used: like new” but it seemed brand new to me. It passed the seal test on the first try. You do have to buy the canister (filtet) separately, so when you do just suck it up and spend the $30 for the new ones. They’re available on Amazon, just look up “Gas Mask Filter 40mm CBRN Military Grade Gas Mask Filter Made in 2017” (they’re blue). Don’t waste your money on the Israeli filters; while I’m sure they’d attach, they’re also expired crap. If you want a full-face respirator, I really can’t recommend this one enough! There’s a reason it’s one of the most popular in the world!

Keeps that CS out well when using a proper filter. Much more comfortable than the S10 or M40, in my opinion. Avon is one of the few brands that I trust as an experienced member of the door kickers club. A real life-saving tool in the right situation. However, would not recommend the FM12 when selecting a mask to wear for long periods of time, as (just like the S10) it isn't really intended for that. Profile is about the same as the S10, so if you're one of those guys who kept bumping your mask out of place in CQB with that mask I wouldn't expect any different. This particular mask came in good, serviceable condition along with the original case and manual. Included a free Israeli type 80 filter which was kind of cool (though didn't meet the requirements of my job as it is not a CBRN rated filter.)

A bit disappointed that the mask did not come in a bag with the manual. I just got the mask itself, but fortunately it came with the dual port valve seal. It does fit well (Size 2) and it is surprisingly comfortable. The mesh head harness is a welcome addition since the S10. Even the field of view is spectacular. I don't know what Britain was thinking when they switched from this to the GSR. Overall, i'm greatly satisfied with this mask. Even the delivery time was nice and swift. I definitely recommend this product for survival preppers, gas mask collectors, cosplayers, hell just anybody that needs a good everyday particulate respirator. But absolutely NOT to airsofters. I'm not saying it has a bad durability, for a gas mask anyways. in fact i'd say the contrary. It's quite well made. But i think it is incredibly stupid to use any sort of gas mask for airsoft. They are rated for gas, not bb's, guys. Be smart about your safety

I was very pleasantly surprised this came in the official Avon bag, with TM for the gas mask. The Canister is Israeli made, so no worries about asbestos in your filter. I was able to quickly fit it and test the seal, which was excellent.

this mask also came with a nice Avon carrying case, official instruction manual, and a compatible Israeli 40mm filter (which was still fresh and usable)!all of this was above my expectation. the mask I got is dated 2006, but it was clearly never used. it works great, I can see no issues using this mask.

Arrived a day ahead of time and fits me perfectly!!! No cracks in the rubber and all of the straps are fully functional. Only gripes are the talcum powder resin (though I do understand why they are there, I wish it would've come with a small cleaning kit or something) and that this did not come with a filter or bag that others seem to have gotten from this seller. Maybe they ran out, I dont know.
