Best mini fan out there.......
I had an older version of this Coleman mini fan and loved it because it wassturdy and made extremely well. I gave that one to someone who needed it thinkingI could just purchase another one. I was a little disappointed withthe materials used to make the new ones. Very cheap materials BUT it is still thebest mini fan I have found out there. This is the QUIETEST one I have found andgives the strongest air flow. I even use it in church when having hot flashes it'sso quiet. The other ones are a little loud. The blades on the new one can break off from the center but you can snap it back in if thathappens.Overall this is the best one I have found out there. If anybody finds a better one letme know. These hot flashes are killer.

Fan stopped working after less than 2 minutes
I purchased this fan for a trip in the tropics. However even though the blades turned, the fan blew no air. Basically, all it did was wirr. Nice if you like wirring noises. Not good if you want air being blown. Anyway, the fan stopped after less than two minutes of use. It did start again on a 7 second cycle. Great. A seven second wirr cyle. Still no air. I tried reversing the blades to see if that would do anything. It cooled my knuckles. This wasn't what I was looking for in a fan. I am very disappointed in Coleman. Why would they create a fan that is good for nothing but wirring and cooling knuckles?

Great for it's small size
I have a small portable 4" fan that is a bit better but this is small enough to put in my pocket and was a lifesaver at a recent outdoor graduation. Everyone else was fanning themselves with their programs but this little fan caught quite a few glances and smiles from the other ladies as they commented on what a great idea it was. It moved just enough air to keep me comfortable around the neck and face. I keep one in purse and one in the glove box so I will always have one handy.

Cheap but gets the job done
I have heat intolerance associated with Multiple Sclerosis and use this to cool down my food before eating. It makes it very easy for me to do. In the past, I had to have my wife blow on it, but now I can cool it down by myself. Make sure you put the batteries in the right way, or it will burn out the motor. Also, 1 drop onto the floor is all it took for me to break one of the fan blades off. It is not the highest quality, but it works well for what I need it to do.

Great while it lasted
Let me get right to the pros and cons;Pros:LightweightEasy to carryDoes what its suppose to, keeps you coolPowered by 2 AA batteriesCons:Hard cheap feeling plastic bladesBurns batteries fairly quicklyPower switch directly under bladesExplanation:Im a big guy (260lbs) and I travel to a lot of places where the heat is very unpleasant (Thailand, Philippines, Kuwait, Iraq, etc) plus on top of it I sweat like i run marathons the second i step out from the AC. I sometimes carry a towel but ive found this just pushes the sweat around more often then not so I decided to purchase a fan. I did some research, not wanting to carry around a fan that would draw a lot of attention but would still do the job. I also figured a fan at this price probably wouldnt last long, i was right. Let me say the fan worked well, it cooled me as soon as i turned it on. The motor is strong to be small but im pretty sure its just a electric shaver motor. That being said, i broke it in two wks time. Its a cheap fan, the blades are hard and will cut you if you forget about them. The connection between the blades and rotor is flimsy and after a couple of days the batteries start to wear even with light use.I would recommend this product as long as you understand you need probably need to buy more then one and that you will get what you pay for.

A MUST have for any woman going through menopause (ie. hot flashes)!!!
Initially a gift from husband (purchased from Target outdoor sporting goods department) this fan is small and lite weight to carry in purse (even a clutch) or pocket. The blades fold flat when not in use. Powerful but depending on use means extra batteries should be readily available (takes 2 AA). Even though you must hold while in operation it is still discreet not everyone will know. People that have noticed, test drove, then immediately inquired where to purchase. I have purchased for family and friends.

Cute but ineffective!
If you want a fan that is portable and looks good, this is a good choice. However if you actually want it to work, get a different fan. I turned it on, the blades spin, but it doesn't blow air. Nothing! So I was playing with it, and removed the blades and reinstalled them backwards. The blades didn't fold down, they stuck out from the base. But it actually created a good strong wind, the only problem is the current was not projected away from the fan, but towards the handle part. Very strange. Either I got a defective product, or the other reviewers don't actually use the fan. I bought this for my daughter to take to camp so she could cool down this summer; I'll have to keep shopping.

Review of Coleman Cool Zephyr Mini Fan
I should return it, but I won't - expecially since I purchased two of them. I don't feel the air blowing when I hold the fan toward me, but if I turn it away from me or the area I want the air blowing I can feel the current. Weird. The top must be placed on it backward. Anyway, another reason is the price. I needed a fan for my house as well and I went into Wal-Mart to buy the fan and I found a small fan very similar for less than half the price I paid for this fan.
