Shadow Warrior - Xbox One

I never played the original, but looking at videos it seems to play like Doom, Blood, etc. - and I loved those games back in the '90s. So I bought this based on the many good reviews - and I was NOT disappointed. This is simply a great FPS game. Health packs, which have become so rare nowadays, are in this game. As are secrets, which a lot of FPS games forego. Money is important as you need to amp up your weapons as much as possible, and there is a really fun kills/powers section that does take a little while to figure out but is pretty cool once you do. The graphics are just okay by today's standards - here is where it lacks the "wow" factor. If you are someone who values the graphics as a top priority, you probably won't like this game as much. For me, as long as the graphics are "acceptable", then I'm good - and the graphics are certainly that in this game. Some really fun challenges to try and complete as well.To be honest, I finished the game on "normal" level, and I immediately turned around and played it on "hard" level (restarting with all my weapons and money which is kind of nice). I finished every challenge except one - the one you have to do on insane difficulty with no checkpoints - I didn't even try that one because there is no way I'll be able to do it. This is really a 9/10 game - I wish I could give it 4 1/2 stars because the graphics bring it down just a tick. But the story, humor, weapons, gameplay, secrets, skills/power/upgrades, and length of the campaign are all top notch. Highly recommended, especially for the price.

AKA what the Duke Nukem reboot should have been.Shadow Warrior is a great first person shooter for fans of classics such as Doom, Duke Nukem, and, of course, the original Shadow Warrior. The story is not muddied by complexities or unnecessary characters. The goal is simple... kill, kill, kill. (Yeah, there is a story. It's simple and works well within the ideals of kill kill kill). Boss battles are challenging and epic as well.Unlike most melee weapons found in FPS, you'll want to use the Katana most of the time. It feels so good to use a special move to take down a bunch of demons at once, and the blood and body parts go everywhere! One liners are funny and many are spontaneous and triggered by the mayhem you are causing. And there are plenty of secrets and Easter Eggs to discover!There are only a couple of cons. One is the loading times when you die. It'll take 15-20 seconds to get you back in the action. There are also 1-2 second pauses within levels while something saves or loads in the backgrounds. Not a huge deal, but it affects the pacing.The other quibble I have is the fluidity of pulling off special moves. I can practice them with no enemies around to pressure me, and can pull them off maybe 60% of the time. Special moves are either up up, down down, left left, or right right combined with the right or left trigger. In the heat of battle, when it matters most, the maybe/maybe notness of getting what you want can be frustrating. For example, right right + left trigger will cast a spell to regain your health. If it doesn't work, then the left trigger fires off a special round of the weapon you have active, which can foul things up if you are conserving ammo.But that doesn't distract from an awesome single player FPS experience. Get some Wang!

If you're at all a fan of old school shooters this is a must buy. Many of us grew up playing old school shooters on the PC and N64. This immediately took me back to that era with the gameplay. It's all about the gameplay. Graphics and story are decent but it's all about the combat here. The swordplay is actually the main draw here but the gunplay is also great. The humor and non serious approach is a nice touch. The levels are linear but large enough and the game doesn't hold your hand too much. Sometimes you have to find your own way to go and find out what to do but the game still glides you through each level. There's also secrets to find off the beaten path. You get a score at the end of each level with stats telling you how you did. You also level up your abilities. This is just a straight up fun action game.

For me I absolutely love this game my only grape is it does not have adjustments to fit the screen. Even if you go into your Xbox settings you have to have a TV that will allow you to adjust the screen. And mine does not allow that . Still it’s ok just slightly stretched on the edges which does not affect anything that you can’t figure out the half showing buttons.This is an incredible classic and you won’t be sorry for the purchase

No tuve ningún problema con el juego. Me gustó mucho y me pareció muy barato. Lo recomiendo.

旧作が大好きだったので、日本語版が当然のごとく発売されないのは非常に残念である。旧作ほどの遊び心やアニメやオタク風要素は無いし、終盤のほうは大量の敵と、くどい攻撃とで、ちょっと飽きてくるものの、プレイ始めは変な日本語発見できてとても楽しい。カタナに気を込めて敵を真横にぶったぎるのがいいかんじです。スキルのアップグレード画面に漢字がところどころに使われてるから、英語苦手でも意味理解できるかも,,とおもったら,,全くわからんでした。
