BDT11S 11Piece Tap & Drill Combo Set

I do woodworking, so I don't need to tap holes that often, so I can't say about long term use or how it works on different metals, ect. Used it to tap a hole in a socket to add an extension for my drill press table adjustment. Well, my son-in-law did it for me, he likes that kind of thing. The set worked very sell. Took a little work to drill the hole, but it was a socket, they tend to be a little tougher metal. The piece did tap well and the threads turned out perfectly. Taped a 1/4 hole and worked great. I picked this set because it had everything, the right sized drill bits, taps and handle. Plus a quite nice and durable case. Great to have it all right there in a box. Couldn't ask for any more. It arrived quick and was packaged well. Very happy with the product and can't think of anything bad to say. Well, the rod on the handle falls out easy, but that is not a big deal to me.

Just the thing for small household & equipment repairs. The taps & the bits are all in one well-organized case. The sizes are the ones most commonly found. Obviously, a much larger set would be more appropriate for people who routinely do shop work of various kinds. Most of us don't.

Good quality product, very will made. Would buy again.

Had #6 /32 and #8 / 32 screw holes to drill and tap in mild steel.. Did an excellent job.

I wanted to up my game in making jigs for woodworking, which meant using some more accurate materials like aluminum. But tapping seemed intimidating. This set was just enough to get me the basics without overwhelming me with options. The sizes represented in this set match all the hardware I already had. Also, even without looking up tutorials, it was fairly obvious how to use the set for my first tap. The drill bits seemed better for aluminum than my existing bits, but I'm not a good enough judge of quality to say much more than that.

Recently I have been doing some projects that require me to tap or retap a hole. I decided to purchase this kit for the occasional use that I have as a hobby user. I fully expect that the taps and drill bits will not hold up to extensive use and can accept that I will need to replace the components as that dull. I really like the storage case and the ability to store a few taps as spares in one place. Good value for the money but wish they offered a kit without the handle as I have numerous handles from my machine building days.

These seam to be strong and durable.
