Pump it up!
This is an ideal pump for the garden self contained fountains, which sometimes are limited for inside space, and with the flow restriction built in, you decide on the flow you want. Excellent long lead and nice and quiet. Would highly recommend for such a use.

Provided a simple water change solution effortlessly.
I was keen to move to an effortless water change system for my 180l aquarium as i was fed up of constantly making buckets up. My aquarium is also not in the easiest position to maintain to this would also save a lot of grief in prep time for a water change.I went for the 2500LPH model as I was going to be pumping approx 15 meters so wanted to make sure flow was sufficient. I'm using 5/8'' (16mm) pipe and on its maiden voyage yesterday, i couldn't have been happier. I Haven't fully worked out my quantities yet, but i'm estimating that I replaced about 70 litres and this was done in about 10 minutes start to finish. This doesn't take in to account the measuring and cutting of pipe along with any other 'first time' jobs. To have done this using the old fashioned method would have been at least 30 minutes, so i'm very impressed with ease of use and time saved. The pump is quite heavy but for the maximum flow rate model, this is to be expected. It's not a permanent fixture so really didn't cause any issues. On the positive side, the pump does feel well made and i'd be more concerned if it was on the light side. Not a very long power cable which is a shame, so you may need to consider where your power points are and plan accordingly. They state 1.8m but mine didn't seem this long which meant I had to change my plans slightly. Still not worthy of knocking points off the pump though. And given the value for money this represents (i bought mine when it was on offer - but without it is still good value) i really have no complaints. I just hope it lasts the distance,

not happy with the fuse
The first thing I notice when I took the pump out of the box is the plug, on the plug it says 13 amp, considering the pump is 45 watts in power, I would expect a fuse to be similar to the power rating, but inside the plug was a 13 amp fuse, something that would be required for electric fires and kettles. The fuse is a safety feature and it should be according to the power of the device, so it should be a 1 amp or 2 amp fuse. Considering the device is being operated in water.I bought the pump to pump cold water through my home brewing heat exchanger, it works, but having tried it to transfer water from one bucket to another, I get the impression that volume of water stated on the pump is highly exagerated under normal loading conditions, even in the unloaded state, I can't really see it pumping the amount stated on the listing.I have found the pump easy to install, but there is not much of an instruction manual, about the size of a playing card.my main complaint about the device is it needs a lower rated fuse. The current the device is using is roughly 0.25 amps going by its power rating,

Not the best for fish tank - migh be good for pond
Where to start?Maybe from good points first:1. Very powerfull - I use it for my CO2 reactor in 180L tank and it does miracles2. Very small and suction pads are good - not sure how long they will last as I'm using it for 2 weeks.3. Replacable nozzle is great and flow controll is another bonus which is not available even with much more expensive flow pumpsBad points:1. Not sure why all of them are having a laugh with lenght of the power cable - this is just joke and seriously I would rate this pump @ 0 start just for that reason. In fish tank my power extension lead hangs half wat across the glass wall - cable is that short.2. Built quality is something of a problem - very cheap plastic3. If you want to get to the propeller to clean it - I wish you good luck way to hard to remove the flow control cap to get into the propeller.4. Very noisy - and I mean it drives me crazy to the point I'm about to get rid of it. If you use it without attached hose it is quiet but I have 10cm tube which leads to spray bar and the pump is running seriously loud.5. flow control - this gets clogged up with debris very easly but I guess this will be the case with most of them - the difference between this pump is hard to clean while in the tank. You need to remove the pump and have fun removing the flow control to clean it.All in all if you need it for pond - it might be ok but if you are looking for something for your fish tank maybe look somewhere else pureply for the sake of ridicolously short cable and noisy operation.

Great pump - very efficient
I bought this pump to move water from an 80l storage box in to the aquarium. It is incredibly efficient, completely the transfer in less than 2 minutes. The reason that I've not given 5 stars is that the screw outlet attachment has become jammed. As it happens, I don't want to put the smaller one one but would be unable to do so if I wished. The cosmetic blanking plate is loose and one of the 4 suckers tore the first time it was used. Doesn't detract through from the ability of the pump to work so well.If you are going to transfer water with it and use the larger attachment then you need 18mm wide tubing.

Aquarium water changes, this is a must!!
I bought this to help with my aquarium water changes and it is perfect! I was sick of going to the bathroom to fill up a bucket over and over. I have now bought a 30l bucket and fill that up and stick this in and this shoots the water straight into the tank. I must admit this is powerful, I didnt need one as powerful as this as if im not careful it will disrupt the sand massively. I purchased a pvc hose off ebay to do the job and it works great.Only down side I would say, this doesn't have an on/off switch so as soon as you plug it in to the mains it comes on and it must be in water when you turn it on. I use a remote control plug at the minute to turn it on and off but when I get around to it I will add a switch to the cable.
