BF Systems Alex Navarre's Pen, Pencil & Letter Opener Set in a Wood and Glass Case

I bought this as a present for my dad and as of yet it's not been used - I may update this later with his view of it or I might not, I dunno yet.So yeah. The box itself is actually surprisingly *big*. I didn't expect a box so large to come in the mail and the finish on it makes me uncertain of if it's actually plastic or wood, but I can't go messing with it just yet since it is a Christmas present. When you get it, it comes in a nice black cardboard box once you get past the packaging. The material is a warmer color than you see here and the utensils within are nice. Not terribly good quality I personally think? but they're definitely workable and that's the primary thing.So you get your letter opener, no edge to it which I had been personally expecting but it does "open" double-folded paper just fine. My dad'll be sad that it's not an actual edge, but he doesn't need that, hah.Then you have your pen. Nice little pen, it's a twist to reveal but I didn't test it out before I put it back in.Your third item inside the case is a pencil. It takes probably .7 or .8 milimeter lead, .9 doesn't seem to be quite right. It's thicker, but definitely not 1.0 millimeter lead.Contents aside, the shipping was surprisingly speedy for being so close to the holiday! Definitely worth the price I paid for it - 19.99 + shipping - and not the listed price before discount I think.Then again I don't know anything about letter openers, so someone else would probably be able to say better than me.

The set looks elegant and well-made. Both pencil and the ball pen write well but the pencil is not well-made and once you over-extend the lead, it's difficult to push it back in. The letter opener is nice but not sufficiently joined so the handle twists slightly, but that does not affect its function. For US$28.00 that's a decent gift set.

Looks like a nice set but it's kind of cheaply-made the letter opener seems as though he's going to break in a minute. But all in all, it's good for light-duty.

I would have loved to have given this as a gift, but it arrived broken. The pen snapped at the bottom of the cap leaving the top portion of the pen stuck in the cap. Also slightly nit-picky, but the items were just floating around in the glass box and not in the slots where they belong (Which is probably how the pen got broken) so if I hadn't opened it before gifting it the presentation would have been embarrassing. Thankfully I had the item shipped to me instead of directly to the person I was giving it to. I am trying to return it, but have to go through Amazon instead of the seller and they are only going to refund me and I would prefer an exchange for a new product that is not broken because it really seems like a nice gift that looks more expensive than it is.

I purchased two for, one each for the owners/builders of a house they built for my sister whose husband passed away. They it really stood out when they were working with potential customers, and reminded them of my sister every time they used the set. The letter opener is used daily and gives the Pen and Pencil set a extra nice touch

The glass lid was glued on and of course the glue failed.

I bought this as a gift for my father for Christmas last year. He has gone back to school as an Accountant and was accepted by a large accounting firm that he interned with. This pen and pencil set was more stunning than I expected. It is high quality and the pen/pencil were gorgeous. My dad loved it too! This set is worth alot more than I paid for it.
