Wisdom of the Ages: 60 Days to Enlightenment

Love Wayne Dyer
I adore all of Dr Wayne Dyer's book. I like this one because you can read on whatever topic you want. You don't have to read it from front to back. I like to share the poems and insight in my classes.

Love this book!
This book has been a favorite of mine for years. I had to buy a new copy because I wore out my old one. If you like literature, you'll love this.

Book pages look / are torn
The entire book came, paper back and all. But the pages were all ripped on the right side instead of being a straight cut edge as if someone photocopied the entire book, glued it into the cover but the pages didn't fit on the right side and took scissors and cut til the entire thing was "sort of" lined up. Can't say I'm furious because to me it's just a book, but it's definitely NOT what I was expecting. I'd send it back for a new one if I had the time or energy to do so, but I bought a book and a book is what I got. Just a heads up to the people to come on what you're buying prior to doing so.Aside the crappy feeling of pages, this book is a great book that has a lot to offer people who are trying to improve their life. Dyer doesn't tell you what to think and repeatedly states that this is written from his point of view which I can respect. He simply explains the different passages from these great minds and does so in a way where it opens your eyes (if you let it) to see things from a different point of view. Doesn't mean you have to agree but it helps you look further than where you may have settled on somethings before. I'm half way done with the book and can't wait to finish. (PS I have never finished a book from front to back in my life, I'm 26, and I hate reading)I love the book and when I'm done I'll probably read it a few more times before putting it on a shelf.

Inspiring
I have read most of Wayne Dyer's books over the course of the past few years. This is because find him to be more than an extraordinarily gifted writer, but rather a truly inspiring example of how one can not only change ones own life - but also dramatically affect the lives of others for the better. This book is one of his best works; I have bought several copies and given them as gifts to friend and family. It is an anthology of short dissertations on sixty of the world's most gifted religious figures, philosophers, poets and writers. He starts with some of the earliest writers of known history and progresses to our present day. It includes both eastern and western writings, and teachings - and in reading them one cannot help but see that all of these people had a special connection to the universal intelligence that is within all of us. One truly pleasant feature of this book is that one can go to any chapter virtually at random, and find an inspirational thought to meditate on or practice for the day. This is especially convenient because each section is only one or two pages so that even if I have only a few minutes with nothing to do - I can always pick it up and read a section or two. While the subtitle to this book "60 days to Enlightenment" might be a tad over-stated, reading and putting Wayne's thoughts and suggestions into practice is definitely a very good start in that direction. I can attest that this book and two others of Wayne's have been significant factors in changing at least a few lives that I know of - dramatically for the better. Keep up your wonderful work Wayne.

Another Incredible Book by Wayne Dyer
I took my time reading this book taking in deeply what Wayne is sharing. I found the topic perfect for that day and what I was experiencing in that moment. Extremely touching to the heart and soul as well as enlightening to the mind.

Amazing insights, especially 6 crumbs of gingerbread at Judgment Day
I read it one message a day. Each one was interesting and helpful. He didn't write like others. He found his own take and told it. My favorite was about the poet e.e. cummings. cummings wrote a poem about 6 gingerbread crumbs talking to God at Judgement Day! Never heard it before but love the idea behind it. I am so glad I read this book. Already rereading it. Recommended for everyone.

One a day
I am reading it the way Wayne suggested. One essay per day on my morning commute. No matter what my mood, he makes sure I start the day on an upbeat note. He writes in a way that is practical and not preachy. In a world that seems increasingly materialistic and mean he reminds us of the value of taking a thankful and positive approach to life no matter what others are doing.

Be in Awe, always.
I am a fan of Dr. Wayne Dyer and read many of his books. I liked "Wisdom of the Ages" the most as it is collection of Poems/Essays written iver a period of time beginning from an Era from BC to the current period. The central theme of it, which is well captured by the author in the last chapter of the book titled "Awe" is that Divinity dwells within each one of us and we are born with a specific purpose and ability to fulfill that purpose. We should keep that in mind while discharging any function and if we maintain the sense of "Awe", the path to realisation of the purpose will automatically be laid out by the Divinity dwelling within us. A must read for people who are self-explorers.

An okay read, but not worth purchasing for your library.
I am a huge Wayne Dyer fan, but I think this is not one of Wayne's better efforts. It is okay, but a little weak on meaningful content. I think this title was rushed to market, and while it is okay, it was sort of cheesy. Again, I love Wayne Dyer, and miss him greatly on PBS, but check out his other titles for a more interesting solid read. The reading of a book is very subjective. I don't want anyone to be turned off reading Wayne Dyer. He has given so much of himself to the world and he has countless other titles to enjoy and learn from.
