Way Shows 'The Way'
"Look for the face or faces you would like to be, and I will guide you toward your dreams." Way created an epic how-to manual with this book. I believe it is much more user friendly than DESIGNING YOUR FACE, so even a makeup rank amateur can get a lot out of this tome. I don't agree with applying makeup to your neck, unless you get off on big dry cleaning bills, but the rest of Way's techniques are really solid. Any woman looking to get out of her makeup rut and shake up her routine will find this a goldmine of ideas. All the looks are classics, and can easily be adapted to suit personal preferences. There are even several looks for men as well. Why not ditch the Kardashian or J-Lo look, and try on the 'Chinoiserie' or 'Glamorous' face for the day? If you dare...

A Timeless Way of Creating Your Face
Way Bandy's style of creating a face through cosmetics is timeless. Not all techniques can be carried and used through the years, but you get a general idea of how to apply them to modern day faces. He is a legend and a master. I am just happy to own a book of Way Bandy's as I collect his books for my own enjoyment. Illustrations are not actual photographs but you get the idea when you see them. I feel this was well worth the price and a great addition to my collection.

a trip to the 70's & 80's magazines
This books presents many face designs that transport us to the magazing covers of the late 70's and early 80's. With simple techniques and your fingertips, Way Bandy explains how to achieve these makeups, and how to match them with clothing and even the kind of perfume you should use to get the final look. Though it is a must-read for inquisitive makeup artists, and a real fun book for makeup lovers, I recommend getting ¨designing your face¨ first, to fully understand the author's technique and his piece of mind on nutrition and bodycare.

best value
If you are looking for a book like this, this is it. I like his other one a little better.no photos, but great techniques. The sketches are helpfull, but one is misprinted. I really had to read it, over and over, to discover the the printed overlay was backwards and upside down.

Classic.
I think this is a pretty cool book. It has some of the earliest techniques. Makeup has changed a lot. But this is a classic by one of the firsts.

A fun Way Bandy cosmetic face design book which is a blast from the past but still so cool & classy~
Neat book, a great addition to Way Bandy's Designing Your Face! I very recently became interested in his books due to Wayne Goss & his fantastic youtube cosmetic artist channel. He highly recommended these out of print oldies but goodies for quality cosmetic reference. So, I hunted them down & now finally have them both.I was just a little kid during Way Bandy's time, but I do remember how many of the women he "made up" looked incredible beautiful, often gracing various magazines or tv shows. His books are filled with wonderful techniques, some are admittedly more dated, from late 70's to 80's but they still hold up strong! His techniques weren't overdone, but very classy & are easily tailored to today's much larger cosmetic choices. This book gives really cool how-to, step by step instructions to achieve various cosmetic styles, including suggested skin care, fragrances, nail colors, hair styles & jewelry to get the full "look". Some are meant for fair skin, some for darker, some for dark eyes, some for blue. Pick the look you want to try & give it a go, how fun!Chapters:1 The Natural Face2 The Teenage Face3 The Chinoiserie Face4 The Glamorous Face5 The Fantasy Face (think of the movie Xanado!)6 The Traditional Male Face7 The Modern Male Face8 The Great American Face9 The Mature Face10 The Evening Face11 The Exotic Face12 The Late-Day Face13 The New Male Face (so very 80's MTV : )!)14 The Debonair Male Face15 The Business FaceWay Bandy's color drawings of each look are at the beginning of each chapter & his hand drawn details are also included.Thank you Wayne Goss!
