External mike works great and picture quality is very good. The problem I have is the unit shuts down after 50 minutes of continuous recording time. The battery still has a charge and even does it when connected to the charger. The auto shut off has 4 settings, 3,5,10 minutes and off. I am not able to change these settings on the camera. I am going to exchange this unit hopefully the next one will work properly. I need a recorder that will run continuously for at least an hour.

The Shape and the Color of the material (black and silver) are best chosen, especially when the mic is attached.This camcorder is very easy to use.I choose not to put my fingers through the strap and just grab it in the palm, as I prefer filming a bit upwards, and I still feel comfortable for the thing is light.The best thing that I love is that this cam has a large viewer which can turn forward so that I can film myself (with its remote control –this is the greatest thing I love) playing the guitar without anybody’s help.The wide angle of the camcorder helps very much in filming inside the house, so this cam is the best choice for family activities. Besides, its light auto-adjustment makes a little awkward. The advice is to never film contre-soleil, but always film with your back to the source of light.The zoom-microphone is essential if you don’t want your voice to be too close, too loud in the clip. This mic helps to make the voice of objective people louder and clearer. Remember to turn it on, with a battery inside. Fortunately, this mic uses very little power.The output format for movies is *.MOV, which is very easy to access and can be edited with Windows Movie Maker or any other software. As far as I know, MOV format keeps all the data of a movie, so it is bigger.The tone of the movie is rather bluish if recorded under bad light conditions. In good light conditions (outdoor in the sunshine or inside with sufficient lights), the tone is the best to the eyes. And in good light conditions, the picture is OK even when zoomed to the max of the 1st zoom step. I don’t recommend using the 2nd zoom step for the picture would be blurred. (The only bad thing is that the zoom speed is too high.)The light of the cam is not strong, which can help only in a distance of about 5 feet. But as a matter of fact, if it were strong enough, it would use much power and affect the time of the battery.In a word, this inexpensive camcorder can work like any other expensive ones in any general events. Beside being a tool to capture daily activities, this camcorder is the best choice for anyone who wants to learn filming for its very low price but having enough features.(I’m attaching some of my clips as examples of lighting and zooming.)

When I open it, I feel like this digital camera is really small. It is light weight and conviente, also has all the basic things that meets family use. The buttons are layout reasonable. When I hold it, I can use two fingers to complete all the basic operations. For the battery, it can only supports one hour actual filming time, I think this could be improve more.

I got this bc I thought it would be good to make some low budget YouTube vids with. My phone takes better pics and vid than this thing. The resolution is pixilated, the zoom just makes things more pixilated, the second is weird, there's no actual zoom, you can't change the field of focus. All the things you can do on your phone. So. just don't bother.

I bought this camcorder for my daughters birthday as she going on holiday and doesn’t like using her phone.I bought a 64GB SD Card and once formatted it recorded without a problem.Most of the accessories are included with the camera including the wide angle lens and macro lens and bags and a case for the lens and camera respectively.The detachable microphone is ideal and it really makes a difference if you require good quality sound capture when taking footage.The remote control works as it should and comes in very handy when I want to be included in any recordings or pictures. A great all round camera.

On thanksgiving the family use this camcorder to make a legacy video of my mother. This camcorder worked perfectly during the entire recording session.
